250 Reasons to Love Nintendo, Many of Them Mega Man

As many of you no doubt know by now, the 250th issue of Nintendo Power magazine is arriving in mailboxes and on store shelves, and features a four-page preview of Mega Man 10. But what you may not know (unless you already have a copy) is that isn’t the only presence the Blue Bomber has in the issue.
In addition to that cover story, the staff has assembled an article called “250 Reasons to Love Nintendo” (and as they’re celebrating over 25 years of gaming history and 250 issues, I would say they are well within their rights). And among those 250 reasons, Mega Man accounts for a pretty good portion of them.

Flipping through the article, nods can be found among “Our Favorite Heroes,” “Our Favorite Villains,” “Awesome Weapons & Power-Ups,” “Mustaches,” “Eight Robot Masters,” “Classic Quotes,” “Sweet Rides,” “Things We Love to Hate,” and of course, “Awesomely Lame Box Art.” For what was picked in these categories, where they ranked, and what was said, you’ll have to grab a copy of the issue, but we will allow you one courtesy: it is unfortunately all related to Mega Man Classic.

Sorry X, Zero, ZX, Legends, Battle Network, and Star Force fans. Though to be honest, if all of those were included, Mega Man might have been able to take up 250 spots all by itself. On the upside, it may please you to know that Mega Man is certainly not the only Capcom franchise on the list– far from it.

The issue also features a nice preview of No More Heroes 2, an interview with Hudson legend Takahashi Meijin, a Play Back of one of my all-time favorite games, and the annual Nintendo Power Awards, but unfortunately, the sole appearance of Mega Man in 2009’s Star Force 3 didn’t qualify for any of the categories.
