Nerdist’s Cosplay Confidential Showcases Mega Man X from NYCC 2012

Over on former Attack of the Show and Singled Out (among many other things) host Chris Hardwick’s Nerdist YouTube channel is a new “Just Cos” video from the 2012 New York Comic-Con. It features Martin, who designed and created his a Mega Man X cosplay to wear to the event, and Nerdist’s cameras give us a behind-the-scenes look at what he did to bring it all together.

One might notice that Martin’s design is not a spot-on representation of the same version of X we see in the games. As the proportions of the character make a 1:1 translation an iffy proposition, he took some cues from other sources and created a version of the character he can truly call his own.

All in all, not bad, and the more positive press for Mega Man, the better!

This is the most amazing thing i have ever seen. i think he deserves some kind of giant pure gold reward for this. what does piss me off however, is that this costume is way better then the ones made for the god awful megaman fan movie. that was made with legit actors and yet the director was such a failure at what he does he couldnt even vision decent costumes.

I hope the people from the Megaman X fan movie take notes from this.

This cosplay is pretty damn good in my book! My only real complaint would be the gem on his head being a bit small and the buster core looking a little dented. However this doesn’t make it terrible by any means. The amount of detail put into this is remarkable. A little more work on the chest and codpiece would have bumped it higher but I’d give this X cosplay a 7.5 out of 10!

Now THAT is how you make a helmet and costume of X. Granted, it’s not perfect, but it’s loads better than the helmets of the fan movie.

That is good cosplay right there! He certainly is slim enough for it. Even more so Imagine he gets into making an exact copy of the original X form… I drool at the thought. sorta lol.
