Preview of Archie’s Mega Man #19 on Destructoid

Well, that was certainly quick. No sooner than we bring you that glimpse of issue #19 of Archie’s Mega Man comic than Destructoid rolls around (no pun intended) with a full-blown preview.

Five pages await, as we see Roll, Kalinka, and Tempo spending a little bit of downtime at the beach after the robot convention incident. However, the weather soon turns ugly and a ship is in trouble, all while Mega Man is out of action. Who do you call? Would you believe… Oil Man?

You can read the rest for yourselves here, and there’s even a pretty clever bit of dialogue regarding the installation of Mega Man’s new slide ability, but (unless you read the text of Destructoid’s article), we’ll leave you to find that for yourself.

    They need to increase the rate at which they release these online, so I can buy more and get my Mega-fix faster!

  2. Random Red says:

    “Why won’t it work in Modes 9 and 10?”
    Is that a battery biscuit?
    Sweet mercy, these references are awesome. Can’t wait for this to hit my comic shop!

  3. rockman says:

    lol it’s the comic making fun of Capcom?.

    *clap clap clap*

    I love this comic. Man, I love the writing, the references, and the art. But that reference is the very best yet!

  5. A-Guest says:

    I probably don’t get the joke you guys are talking about, but the issue looks decent.

    Best parts however are Rock’s slide upgrade AND the “When Worlds Collide” counter on the front page :D

  6. Blayaden says:

    @A-Guest
    Megaman can’t slide in Megaman 9 and 10.

    Its a reference to the fact that Megaman “lost” that ability.

  7. SketchMan3 says:

    Yay, beach episode.

    Hm. Is that a heart-framed Kalinka pin-up I see??

    I didn’t realize humans had the Lilo and Stitch/Megaman-anatomy with the massive wrists and ankles. I thought that was just a robot thing, lol…

  8. Phaelin says:

    I guess no one noticed Storm Eagle on the first page (not the cover)?

  9. A-Guest says:

    @Blayaden

    Now I get it, thank you :D

  10. Soaring Buster says:

    Obligatory beach story ho- suddenly, RUSH!

    Though I admit, it probably would have taken me far too long to get the slide joke…

    @ Phaelin

    You would be wrong! I had a double take.

  11. some dude says:

    Why does a robot need sunglasses?

  12. Kapus says:

    Roll’s in her Vacation outfit from MMPU. Interesting.

    I loved the little slide gag they did there. Very clever.

  13. sinclair says:

    Wonder if we’ll see Roll and Quakewoman getting into some underwater action (ala BABE-um, BAYWATCH)…

  15. SketchMan3 says:

    @Phaelin: Nope I did not notice him at all, though it did catch my attention momentarily. I was focusing on more important things iykwim

  16. Glitcher says:

    Wait, since when can Roll telepathically communicate with Rush? o_O

  17. @Glitcher: I’m guessing she’s using some sort of communicator or something. Sort of like the ones the Avengers were all using, but we couldn’t see.

  18. Random Red says:

    @Glitcher
    She’s a robot. Just smile, nod, and go with it. :)

    And I really, REALLY hope they’re not trying to squeeze in Kalinka having a crush on Rock… That’s the only reason I can think of for there being little hearts around that panel…

  19. BMV says:

    Roll and Tempo are looking pretty hot in their swimsuits… tee hee

  20. Ryan "Jamps" Jampole says:

    I am liking all these comments!

  21. Airman says:

    Is it sad that the way they’ve drawn this image…Kalinka looks more like a robot than Roll and Tempo do?
