Iris Joining the Hunters in Project X Zone

Bandai Namco’s Project X Zone will be getting another familiar face to fans of Mega Man X4. The latest Famitsu reveals that Iris also shows up in the storyline as an event character. X appears to recognize her as “the girl from that Repliforce incident,” indicating that the events of X4 are a past part of their history from this game’s viewpoint. It will be interesting to see how Zero reacts to all this…
Iris will be voiced by Yuko Mizutani in the game, just like she was in Rockman X4.

It’s because the way I see her as a weird little backwards VAVA, mainly to mirror Zero as VAVA mirrors X. It works PERFECTLY.
And this is what I call a “negative mirror” effect.

Well, this means one of 3 things: 1) This takes place just before X4 and X is referring to another “incident” with Repliforce (incident could be positive or negative, and if it’s pre-X4, there is not yet a “Repliforce Incident” yet), 2) This takes place during X4, and X was never aware of Iris’ and Zero’s relationship (which is a stretch, but not impossible. Right?), or 3) somebody really didn’t do their homework (though, if they got the original voice actors, wouldn’t they stop and go, “Wait, something’s wrong with the script” before something like this got published?)
I’m over-thinking things.
Or X is a massive dick and forgot her from her time as a navigator during the Soul Eraser incident. X IS kind of a dick to people.
Or, much simpler, cross over universe means canon and deaths are loosely applied for the sake of a more entertaining storyline.
@Omar: As pointed out to me by a friend of mine, it’s a bit worrying that a human Iris would want a world devoid of humans.

Thanks! And yes. That’s why Iris is disguised as a reploid. Furthermore, why would it be worrying? People say crap like that all the time. She’s saying these words on a dying breathe, her final words of longing and passion. She really wanted to be in a world only with Zero (and she says this). No other human or reploid really matters except for the two of them, not in her eyes.
And that’s the English translation anyway… I’m curious to know what she said in Japanese. Though this comment log is being buried by new NEWS posts, We should definitely take this into the forums. If there are forums. I don’t think there are… nope. There aren’t. Guess we just need to move onto another topic in another post. I’ll be sure to mention Iris though.

@Omar: I think the JP version of that scene was about the same (though the acting was better. :p ).
As for why it’d be worrying–implications of misanthropy would be my best guess. Someone off-site also suggested that it had unpleasant implications for how Iris views the world.
Word of advice: If you do start a topic on it (TMMN does have a forum; it’s under “Community”), say that “Iris = human” is your theory and not 100% fact; if not, people won’t be as inclined to discuss the ramifications and such of Zero loving a human, and will just point to the source book (as has already happened).

Why the hell is Iris disguised as a Reploid if you claim she is human? Iris is a Reploid for god’s sake. So what if Colonel and Iris are siblings, they’re still Reploids damn it.

@Alantor: I can’t say for sure since I’m not him, but I think Omar’s reasoning was that if human!Iris didn’t disguise herself, then she wouldn’t be allowed into Repliforce (ergo couldn’t be with Colonel).
A physical examination would foil that pretty quickly, but I think Colonel’d be able to stop them from throwing her out.

It’s 99% the same as the English version. The only difference is Zero’s final yell is a bit more focused and not so cheesy.

This whole stupid Iris is human thing is started because of Omar’s really dumb question. Capcom made Iris a robot, so she is a robot to begin with…
I know Iris since I played X4 when I was little and she is and always will be a Reploid to begin with.
