Mega Man Spotted in Upcoming Capcom All Stars Game

On top of Xover, it appears Capcom seems poised to have every single franchise and character under their control turned into a social mobile game. Famitsu recently covered Capcom All Stars, which one would assume will feature stars from their most prominent franchises. Among them is Mega Man, who seems quite at home and pretty happy in the above teaser image.

Capcom All Stars is one of five Capcom/GREE collaborations and has only been confirmed for Japanese release. However, two other collaborations were already shown at E3 this year. It could only be a matter of time before this game also ends up being released worldwide, although for now the game is only being distributed in Japan.

Dang, lots of new, old, and in-between Capcom characters. Also, looking at that article…Ruby Heart finally getting her own game?!

  2. HeatPhoenix says:

Man, I sure do love mobile games!

  3. RedrazerZero says:

How do you remember Tech, Gotcha, Sonson and Metal, but not BOF?…

  4. RADIX says:

@RedrazerZero: Breath of Fire? Well, BoF5 tanked, and Capcom never bothered researching WHY and just tossed the series into the abyss.

With this game including characters from Capcom’s “most prominent franchises”, I really hope Megaman’s inclusion is sincere, and not just “if we don’t toss him in the fans will get angry”.

  5. RedrazerZero says:

BoFV:DQ did well in Japan, has a notable fanbase and was well received critically. BoF as a series out sells the Armored Warriors line of games, Okami, Vampire, and Ace Attorney only out sells it by about one million copies which it reached after the fifth game in its own series…

  6. WilyNumber13 says:

    wow, even SonSon’s on here.

  7. RADIX says:

@RedrazerZero: …if that’s true, then I have no idea why Capcom’s all but totally abandoned BoF. If BoF5 didn’t do that well in the US, why not keep making BoF and just leave it in Japan unless there’s significant US demand for another BoF title?

Capcom’s backwards antimatter un-logic makes me want to bonk my head against the wall. x.x

  8. ShinPichu says:

    @pstart

I saw the Ruby Heart thing, and all I could think was that I didn’t remember Ruby Heart showing off that much cleavage.

  9. Professor Icepick says:

Oh joy, more social games. I can hardly contain my enthusiasm.

  10. stealthwoman says:

    at least it’s not xover….

  11. Glitcher says:

Capcom All Stars? Didn’t Cappy try and fail to release that title a few years ago?

  12. Munchy says:

Still waiting on a new game that isn’t for iOS.

@RADIX: I remember reading once that the guys behind Golden Sun and Shining Force were interested in making a new BoF game. Considering Capcom’s love of outsourcing, you’d think they would be all over that.

  13. MHZ says:

This fail, ail and fail again. Oh Capcom why are you some dumb as ****.?

First they cancel this game for PS2 and Arcade and bring a crappy game to mobile version. First Megaman now this?

Now seriously….how in the world can you play a fighting game on mobile with touch screen and no buttons?

  14. Heat Man says:

@MHZ: You know there was never an indication so far that this is a fighting game. :I

  15. WilyNumber13 says:

@Glitcher: You’re thinking of “Capcom Fighting All-Stars” which was a 3D fighting game that never released.

  16. HF says:

    @MHZ: As a card game.

  17. Matt says:

Notice how small Mega Man is in this picture and how big the Street Fighter characters and everyone else are. I couldn’t find Mega for at least the first few seconds. I guess even though he’s one of their best sellers even to this day he doesn’t deserve a bigger spot on this.

  18. Duckaiser says:

    Oh boy, social games.
    Well, I dunno.
I like how Chun-Li is more prominent than Ryu, the way it should be…
I like how Mega Man’s not getting the shaft.

I like how Ruby Heart is finally in another game, possibly as the star!
(She did have cleavage like that before, and her chest seems to pretty much be the same size, I think it’s just the art style and angle?)
    Compare: http://www.fightersgeneration.com/characters3/rubyheart-mv2.jpg

I don’t like how they are all social games. I don’t like how, as usual, Breath of Fire will probably have no representation whatsoever.

  19. New Era Outlaw says:

That looks…pretty great, to be honest. I also like how Ruby Heart’s getting her own title as well, so she’s breaking out of the OC mould.

@ Matt – That’s just nitpicking. Just because Mega Man isn’t as prominent in the poster as some of the other characters there doesn’t mean Capcom is doing it on purpose. This is just like the time people watched the MvC Origins poster with Mega Man on it and said they were screwing with the fans because the word ‘Legend’ appaears too close to him. I do wish people would stop doing that, it’s making us MM fans look like a bunch of paranoid freaks.

  20. Stefan says:

I’m just glad that Mega Man is the Clasic Mega Man and not his predecessors or the posers (looks at bad box art rockman from SFxT)

  21. GeminiSparkSP says:

Who’s Ruby Heart, and what game she starred in?

  22. RedrazerZero says:

    @GeminiSparkSP
A Capcom character that was introduced and was the lead character in Marvel vs.Capcom 2.

  23. @New Era Outlaw: Seriously. I mean, there’s a lot of legitimate complaints, but then I feel we lose credibility of those legitimate complaints when everyone’s off being so overly paranoid.

@GeminiSparkSP: Ruby Heart and Amingo (who I know you didn’t ask about, but am mentioning anyway since they both share the same origin) were originally characters that were going to be in a Darkstalkers game, but were then scrapped during production. Then when Marvel vs. Capcom 2 came around and was a rushed last ditch attempt to cash-in on the Marvel license before it expired. Capcom didn’t do much for quality control, but they went all out on character roster size, including as many characters as they possibly could, and that included Ruby Heart and Amingo, who seemed to have enough work done on them to where finishing them up wasn’t too much work, so they were two Capcom characters in MvC2 who actually didn’t have a game they hailed from prior to that.

  24. LanceHeart says:

I know we’re a bit removed from the discussion, but it’s as good a time as any to mention that Inafune himself said Capcom have removed themselves from the standard (i.e. traditional) JRPG market for the foreseeable future. That would explain why there’s no Breath of Fire in the teaser image.

Don’t lose hope, though. There are characters with far more recent franchise entries that aren’t in that image. It would be strange for Capcom to not include Captain Commando or Bionic Commando if they went so far as to dig up Gotcha Force and Tech Romancer.

  25. C’mon people just get a grip! Be glad Mega Man is in it seriously we’re transforming into the Sonic fanbase!
