First Look at D-Arts Mega Man – With Rush and Metall! (Updated)
Posted on August 31st, 2012 by Heat Man

The text indicates it’s still under copyright check, but certainly it’ll still be ready for its December release. The figure is expected to retail for ¥3,780 (roughly $48 US). We’ll keep you posted as we find out more.

UPDATE: Capcom’s own Ucchy-san also dropped by Tamashii Features Vol. 4, and did his own photo report of the new Mega Man figure. Check it out!

Looks really good! Rush and the Met are a nice little bonus too!
Oh wallet, soon you will be ready for it all…
Looks great, I’m not a big fan of the torso to be honest, I hope it comes with many accessories.
wellppp
There’d better be Bass
Oh! It already stands out quite differently from the Kotobukiya Mega Man (which I have). Rush AND a Metall? Hmmm…I’d love a Rush figure, but out of all the recent Mega Man figures, Mega Man himself is the only one I have…
Not bad! And Rush is included! Yayz!
It definitely looks small, so it’s a sure bet these will be close to scale with the X ones. Oh, Bandai. You waited till I caught up on the X series before sending me even more stuff to get…
Good Guy Bandai.
O_O WANT
Well if it wasn’t already an insta-buy just on premise alone, then these pictures would solidify the status. Definitely getting.
Looks EPIC but… Kotobuyika model FTW!
Rush eh? Hopefully leagues better than the current Jazwares one. *shudder* Heck, the old Bandai Rush is leagues better!
Rockman looks eh, Rush is great though. Wish Kotobukiya would make a Rush kit. But I guess their license ran out.
I like the colors better than the kotobukiya version, but I think Kotobukiya totally takes the cake on this one. Personally, that abdomino-thoracic joint is a turn off.
I will say, these may represent a prototype product so far. If I recall correctly, when D-Arts Vile was shown off, it different a little from the final product. Especially, he had rather skinny legs and hips. But yeah, the lower abdomen of this figure is kind of weird.
The aforementioned abs look a little weird, and his forearm isn’t as bulbous as I’d expect; in cases like the shoulder joints and elbows, the joints aren’t as well-concealed as the X series figures, or maybe it stands out more because Megaman’s design is “smoother” than the bulkier, somewhat more angular X series designs. All that said, I’ll take it–great colors, great helmet, great face. Rush and Metool look fantastic–I just hope we actually get Metool this time!
Also, it’s hard to definitively say based on one picture, but he looks lankier to me, like some Megaman 8 artwork. Long limbs, more pronounced neck.
Ya, to me, this looks more like the Mega Man 8 version of Mega Man, rather than the more traditional version which was used for Kotobukiya’s models.
But that suits me just fine. I know it looks weird to some people, but I don’t mind this at all. And I like that it’s in the same scale as the other D-Arts. ^^
Screw classic. More X figures!!!
Not bad. Rush is definitely very adorable.
Still holding out for Sigma though.
If Rush can transform into jet mode, I’ll buy it instantly…Oh who am I kidding? I’ll buy it anyway!
@MRFJFS: I’m sure we can and will still have both. That being said, I say “no” to your “screw classic” comment. Particularly because it’s my favorite series.
This looks AWESOME!! I really hope we get more classic characters too like Roll, Bass, and if we’re lucky Super Megaman! Can’t wait.
And I hope he comes with his MM5 super buster shot or maybe even his MM8 buster upgrades.
Rock looks a little strange (though his head looks ace!), but what he lacks at first blush, I’m sure will be made up for in posability. I’m surprised they didn’t pose him in a more exciting fashion.
Rush and Met look great. Definitely want those!

SOLD
It’s distinct from the Kotobukiya kit, and that Rush is awesome too! (Hope that the Met isn’t just decorating the glass case[?] they’re standing on…)
That’s definitely the best Rush I’ve seen so far, and this is coming from someone who actually likes the Jazwares toys. Megaman himself–torso looks a bit weird, but it’s not a deal-breaker.
The should, waist and paint needs work
Hmmm, I kinda like the Kotobukiya one better.
Looks great, I will definetly be getting this. However as cool as these figures are, I would love to see a company (D-Arts, Kotobukiya…someone) do figures like these of at least some of the Robot Masters.
I believe it is best put, SHUT UP AND TAKE MY ZENNY!
Kotobukiya: MM1- MM6
D-Arts: MM7-MM10
But BOTH versions look great!
AWESOME. I was really hoping I could avoid the Kotobukiya kits as I didn’t like them that much. This is great news.
Looks pretty good, for me it looks much nicely proportionate than the kotobukiya version. don’t get me wrong, the koto kit version wasn’t bad either but i never liked that he look to big headed small torso body and that it doesn’t hold to well in the joint connections(legs and arms falling of a bit to easy).
I see that for some people the torso joint is a bit out of place and not many people likes it, but there is no way to hide it easily since the original megaman is more smoother in design in contrast to his other brother MMX that has armor that can hide it much better. they could make the torso articulation on the base of the waist area but then it wouldn’t look natural so there needs to be a compromise somewhere.
The shoulders design i like it , much better looking than the Koto kit version to be honest.
crossing fingers for that mettal and Rush to comes with megaman.
I’m going to have to agree that (for me) the definitive “classic” MegaMan figure is the recent Kotobukiya model. The only thing I don’t like about the Kotobukiya model (which I know D-Arts will include on theirs) is the lack of the jewels on the soles of his feet; otherwise it’s perfectly proportioned and designed in every way.
The above figure certainly has more of a MM8 vibe to it, but if the MMX figures are any indication of quality: this will be awesome … and I’ll probably end up buying it anyway.
Someone said they like the colors in the proposed D-Arts figure better than Kotobukiya, and to that person I say: the Kotobukiya kit is meant to be painted.
This rush looks eerily similar to the Jazwares one, despite looking MUCH better and hopefully that it will have fully interchangable Rush Jet parts, I hate having to hold both figures to get the Rush Jet experince while planning a stage for a fangame!
GAAAH TAKE MY MONEY!! If I knew this was coming I would have stayed away from the Kotobukiya MegaMan….I mean…I still love it…but I wanted matching figures…BUT NOW I CAN!! AAAAAAAA
Woah, they look better than what I was expecting! Though Megaman looks kinda off for some reason to me? Must be the neck thing and the waist separation. And Rush looks kinda fat. But other than that they look ok, I really like the defult face on him too! But I really hope they elbow joints aren’t the same as in the current X line. But I have a feeling that they will be… *sigh…* If Rush comes with Mega then that would great! Don’t care much about the metall.
I’m glad I never got the Kotobukiya one. HA! The Kotobukiya one is ok, but lacks details here and there which I know your supposed to do it yourself. But This one is WAY BETTER than the Kotobukiya.
So much for Sigma, Black Zero, and Vile’s Ride Armor. And if anyhting Volnutt as he won the voting. Why have a voting poll if it doesn’t matter. It seemed pointless now.
But even though, not bad of a selection Bandai, not bad…
Sean AM said : “the Kotobukiya kit is meant to be painted.”
This. The fact that it actually looks decent without painting is a luxury that most plamo kits lack.

Fantastic! Too bad they had to separate the abdomen without any lines in the design to help out, but I collect toys and I’m quite used to it! All in all this ain’t a bad look compared to some chest joints I’ve seen. Totally bought! Looking forward to Proto Man and Bass, of whom I’m sure we’ll be seeing eventually.
Dayum! Insta buy for me, now Mr D-Arts about that Bass figure… like i mentioned in another post i hope Bandai actually continue to offer us fans this line as these have been the best MM figures in a long while!
Why the hell is rush so…. pink?
I think the only reason people think his torso looks weird is because of the fact that his chest and waist are separated. The thing is, though, that it’s made that way for the sake of articulation. Personally, I prefer it to have as much articulation as possible. It makes for more dynamic poses.
You know, I actually think the Kotobukiya looks better than this one. It looks good, but not as good as Kotobukiya. Maybe it’s the shoulders?
Oh well, that Rush looks awesome! XD
WOW! I just got a closer look at Mega’s hips and elbows on Rockman Unity and they look really weird with all the threads! Big turn off!!! Well, for me at least…
Cool! I hope they create bass and treble, why not protoman and tango… But i wish to see sigma first.
yeah, I want to see a bass figure, along with duo. hopefully mega man comes with a purple scarf and a changeable forehead piece
looks awesome!!!
though i do wish they continued with the X series. oh well. here’s hoping Megaman D-Arts will be the next giveaway. :3 hehe.
This figure has a big problem: He hasn’t got the Capcom Hand.
Are you talking about that gesture a lot of Mega Man characters have in official art where their middle and ring fingers are together?
Wow, they look fantastic. I wonder how big the box will be… will Rush have interchangeable parts for his different forms (ie Rush Coil, Rush Jet, etc.)? Will Rockman come with pew-pews and a charge shot? Or even with an alternate head of hair?
