More Screens of Vile in Project X Zone
Posted on August 29th, 2012 by Heat Man
Hot off the heels of yesterday’s flying get, Famitsu has released a bevy of Project X Zone screens, including some of X’s most infamous rival: Vile. Along with seeing a much prettier screen of the above confrontation, we also have some screens of Vile in action. He’s shown off performing the move Rising Spectre, although I can’t say if all the screens are of the same attack sequence. Needless to say, though, Vile packs a punch. And a shoulder cannon death beam.

Holy crap, that’s one bigass laser beam.
So delighted they actually installed a villan from the X series, and a very popluar one to boot.
I’m guessing that’s a over glorified version of that laser Vile used as a boss in hard mode of MHX.
Also wow I just noticed Skeith (one of the most rememberable bosses from .hack) is in the background of the first picture, I’m guessing X & Zero meet Kite & BlackRose in this stage? It makes sense with this being a cyber area there in.
Not going to lie however, I kind of wish this had Battle Network characters, would have worked better with the .hack characters.
:/
The more awesome this game looks, the more I’m convinced it will suffer the same fate as “Namco X Capcom” and not show up outside of Japan(especially if Capcom has “their” way on where it’s released).
That is a gigantic rocket fist. So the battle system seems to be that on your turn, you beat the helpless opponent like a rag doll, and on their turn, they return the favor?
Also, do I see a very tiny Boomer Kuwanger sprite in the right of the screen?
Doesn’t this guy ever get tired of being Sigma’s lapdog?
A little off-topic, but, I think this is worth mentioning. A new Shinkiro art, related to the upcoming Marvel vs Capcom Origins, based on the infamous American boxart from Mega Man 2:

(Sorry I posted the long facebook link…)
You know what makes me really happy? That the Vile sprite looks like it was from Mega Man Zero 2 from the fight with Phoenix Magnion.
Which I tried to do myself once….
really can’t wait for this game to be released!(given it will be released outside japan). X finally in a crossover games, hellz yeah! just hoping for the best here.
btw, is that dr. light’s capsule in the background behind X?
DANG. That’s one powerful Vile. DANG.
And by the way, X looks as if he’s getting tired of Vile. Sorry X, he and Zero and Sigma will forever torment you by coming back from the dead each and every time you’re around. XD
Imagine a game like this with Mega Man characters from all series ^_^
OK, this is getting more sexier than ever. I’m also happy that CAPCOM gave X another chance to shine with Zero, and Vile…HE’S GOING TO GET PWNED YET AGAIN!
@tj4real
Sorry, mate. Not gonna happen, Namco X Capcom never got a release here.
…Holy crap, VILE and SKEITH.
…P-Permission to wet my drawers in terror, captain?
And I LOVE that they’re implementing the Maverick Hunter X moves. There’s one thing the original series never quite sold for me, and that was the aspect that Vile was built as a war machine. Yeah, he was powerful, but in his initial 3 appearances, really it seemed his mech was the war machine, not him.
In Maverick Hunter X, that all changed. He had weapons of every conceivable type, of nearly 10 variations minimum each, including flamethrowers, grenades, missiles, wave cannons, machine guns, shockwaves, and f**k-you lasers. You were a one man army, and got to love every second of it.
And those moves that made you feel like a physical god are really being turned against you? We may finally have a Vile battle of the difficulty he so deserves, guys.
…Plus, freaking SKEITH, if that wasn’t terrifying enough. Freaking Terror of Death with our favorite war machine.

Let’s not be too hasty, now. Let us remember, with NamcoXCapcom is was just Namco-Bandai and Capcom, and N-B are NOTORIOUS for being region-elitists. However, this time, Capcom’s got Sega along for the ride, and it’s all under a Nintendo license, not a Sony console. These are three corporations who understand the value of worldwide release, and rarely ever openly restrict a title to a single region.
Capcom, Sega and Nintendo want the big bucks off of something like this, and they know that most of the world knows about the game by this point.
Vile was a good choice for Project X Zone, he would make a lot of popularity in this video game
