Vile to Appear in Project X Zone
With the heroes of Project X Zone getting a lot of spotlight, it’s time to start looking at some villains. And Andriasang brings us word that Vile will be making his appearance in the game to oppose the Maverick Hunters and co. He is revealed among others in the latest Famitsu, and hopefully we’ll get some imagery soon. In the meantime, we can only speculate what Legends villains might appear as well.
UPDATE: Image added! Vile’s text reads “Just worrying like always, X!” It’s interesting to note that, while much of the X series elements we’ve seen so far come from Mega Man X4, Vile retains his original appearance. Of course, with the most recent X games being remakes of the first, and Bandai’s recent D-Arts figure, it’s easy to understand that the original Vile is the most iconic in appearance.
Furthermore, Hiroshi Shimozaki, who voiced Vile in the Japanese version of Maverick Hunter X, will lend his voice to Vile once again in this title.

It’s always awesome when they have Vile as X and Zero’s Antagonist in a game, IMHO.
Since it’s probably just Tron from Legends, maybe they’ll have Glyde + Birdbots. That’d rule!
The thing that would really sell this game for me is Streets of Rage/Bare Knuckle characters from Sega and Final Fight characters from Capcom.
Funny how they went with original MMX Vile, I was expecting the X3 one.
Joining a cross over game before me, X? I HATE THAT ABOUT YOU!
I bet Vile is in it because of his recent D-Arts figure. Capcom probably saw it as a chance to advertise in a way.
I’m not complaining though.
I honestly have to say, I was interested in this game when I found out Zephyr and Leanne from Resonance of Fate is in the game, now I’m even more interested.
Haha, man Vile got in the game just to give X a hard time. Look how X is giving off the ‘this is getting old’ look…
You just can’t keep a bad bot down. I think Vile is in some unspoken competition with Zero to see who can come back from the dead the most.
@Maverick-jin8: What would it matter for marketing? Capcom only makes money on the licensing. They don’t help themselves by selling more figures for Bandai. Not that they could anyway – the figure was a special deal and is unavailable now.
Hmm, after that long PV we got before, Zero said “If you’ll revive again and again, then I’ll just destroy you again and again”, I was positive it meant Sigma.
Now with Vile revealed I’m not so sure….
I’m elated that Vile’s back to go crazy on us again, but Sigma would just make this game perfect. He’s an ideal plot device for Banpresto’s style of storylines with his reviving old characters, manipulating others, and taking advantage of situations from behind the scenes, while his virus and evolving technology is something that the other villains to easily try to use to their advantage.
I mean Vile can’t revive on his own and we know Sigma can and has restored Vile before. The last thing I need from this game for 10/10 excitement would be knowing that Sigma with Mugihito’s laugh were coming. Plus his multiple forms would make for some very exciting and varied boss fights.
Could you imagine Beowolf-Einst Sigma?? Oh lord, that would be the epitome of badass boss fight. Almost October and a 2nd PV is in the works as we freaking speak.
Looks great, too bad that 3DS is region looked and in the case this game comes to the west, probably it will take 6-8 months.
Wonder if he uses just his old attacks from the original or they’ll give him some of his from his mode in MHX to make him more of a threat.
Interesting, I wonder if he has his ride armor?
If this game were to make it to the West, it would make me a bit sad that Roger Rhodes would not reprise his role as Vile, considering that Lucas Gilbertson was replaced by Johnny Yong Bosch. Then again, I don’t see how Capcom couldn’t get Mr. Rhodes again since they had fellow Canadian voice actor Paul Dobson voice Doom for MvC3.
