A Few D-Arts Tidbits from Bluefin/Tamashii Nations at Otakon

While at this year’s Otakon, we got to speak with Bluefin Tamashii Nations about the Mega Man X D-Arts figures from Bandai, and picked up a few interesting little tidbits. And after double-checking on the details, we’re ready to share this information with you. However, do bear in mind that some of these details are tentative and not concrete, but should give you an idea of what to expect nonetheless.

First is that you can expect to see the black Zero Type 2 figure and a re-release of the original Mega Man X figure sometime in early 2013. It could be as early as January, but that remains to be seen.

The other thing is that we have some rough price estimates for Vile’s Robot Ride Armor and Sigma. Sigma, a rather large figure, is predicted to have a price of around $60. This isn’t bad given his size compared to the other figures and what they cost. The Ride Armor, however, may be priced at over $100. Again, bear in mind that these are simply estimates, and they are still under consideration to be made into an actual product.

That’s it for now, though we’re hopeful that maybe something new (or even more concrete, in the cases of Sigma and the Ride Armor) will come from the upcoming “Tamashii Features Vol 4″ show. What would you like to see revealed there, if anything?

  1. Given the level of detail in these figures (read: they are gorgeous) and considering that Sigma is more detailed than X, Zero and even Vile, I’d say $60 is not bad at all too, especially since these are collectible figures. I’ve seen the metallic X go for…Geeze, upwards of $200 and I’m sure there’s higher prices for him beyond that. Mine’s behind glass, managed to snag him at Otakon 2011.

  2. Also, I’d love to see the X Hunters, Dynamo, and Gate. Especially if it’s Gold Gate.

  3. RADIX says:

I wanna see Trigger since, you know, he’s still at the top of the poll (if anyone says anything about “ballot-stuffing” I will verbally throttle them).

Prices seem reasonable (well, Sigma’s at least), and not having to pay out the arse for normal X is nice, too.

  4. RayZX says:

i dunno about you guys but here at Philippines, these D-Arts X, Zero, Metallic Figurues, prices here are just hell cheap and some people sell 2nd hand D-Arts MMX because they pretty dont like it or just need cash and will get it alot cheaper, but the Vile, god I dont want to talk about him, hes 3x expensive over the other D-arts MMX line… i dont know the reason…

  5. PlaguedOne says:

I would consider $60 a steal for a D-Arts Sigma. Bring it on!

  6. Tumb says:

Hey uh, D-Arts Sigma seems non-posable from the pictures I can see. It looks like there’s no joints.

I ain’t buyin’ no dang statue.

  7. Magnet_Man says:

    Kaiser Sigma or General.

I want something that’ll turn heads from people across the street.

  8. Tumb: That’s an early prototype.

  9. TheMaverickk says:

Hopefully the reveal of a second set of normal X figurines will drop the price of it on Amazon from sellers.

Most places are right now asking for $100 upwards for the figurines while newer figures in the collection are running around $36 – $50 bucks.

It will be nice to have a second chance to grab it since I was unaware of the DArts figures up until the Zero release.

only one matters to me: Mega Man X ultimate armor with X5 black and light blue variant!

  11. timone317 says:

It’s weird to think about what I want next since we already have so much coming out, but as long as they make Dynamo, MMX Falcon Armor, & Megaman Trigger figures I’ll be beyond satisfied.

  12. Amir says:

Still holding out on a Red Joker or Black Ace… T_T

You’d think with such awesome designs, some company would pick them up by now. Or even Wonder Festival kits…

  13. ZeroX_Syaoran says:

@RayZX: WHERE THE HECK DO YOU LIVE?! I HAVEN’T FOUND ANY IN ILOILO! Fudgeballs and nutcrackers, I want a Zero figure man.

  14. Kaitlin EXE says:

owo Starting saving money right now.

  15. RayZX says:

@ZeroX_Syaoran: you should always check ebay.ph/sulit.ph

last time i check someone offered 2k for both X and Zero 1st ver,

and yeah… i get figures at this site GreatToysOnline.com
and i buy them in their stores… i dunno if they had one in Iloilo, lol i havent got Vava though… :( (

  16. ZeroX_Syaoran says:

@RayZX: eBay? Aw, I can’t use eBay because I can’t use PayPal and credit cards and such. Dang. Hm. Looks like Imma look for ‘em the old way.

  17. Megaman lover says:

    *cartman* sweet

  18. Omar says:

I want to see armor kits for X. Two in one package (so you’re selling at least one armor that the consumer likes), for like $30. Or just make the whole X figure.

Also, weapon kits. Weapons for X, different element swords for Zero. $20 – $30 if you sell a whole game’s worth of weapons per package.

Enemy packages. Small things like Bats, mettaurs, rabbits, those spiked wheels… and a piece of plastic that looks like an explosion effect. Sell it for $20 – $30.

Tamashii should begin to include large pieces of Wolf Sigma in their packages, kind of like those Marvel Legends toys. This spurs a “collect them all” mind set, so once you do collect them all, you can put together a big Wolf Sigma and it would look badass.

I would also like a Light Capsule, so maybe i can mount some armors that belong to X. Maybe throw in a LED light to make it glow? That would be a need feature of the toy.

I don’t ever want to see Axl. Ever.

But give me Volnutt. I would buy the crap out of Volnutt. With interchangeable weapons and a helmet or hair piece. They can have all of my damn money.

  19. Alantor says:

    @Amir

No. Shooting Star MegaMan is so unpopular that D-Arts aren’t gonna risk making D-Arts Shooting Star MegaMan figures. So the chances of SSR having D-Arts is extremely low…

  20. Alex Erdellan says:

Agree on Red Joker and Black Ace figures… would definitely purchase a Black Ace, one of my favorite Megaman designs of all time.

  21. Kaiser says:

i find it so out of place they want to re-release the basic original X at the beginning of next year instead of doing now since he is just the basic form, hell even Zero version 1 is still available yet but they can’t have original X been on the market like now?.

I would expected that for the armored version instead because of possible other versions of the armors in the future(if they do want to continue) or Zero type 2 and its future recolor.

But at any rate, looking forward for the D-arts Sigma and the price of $60(if it is) then its well worth it. as for the ride armored, if it is a $100 i might considered to buy it but i need to see how its gonna be made and what kind of quality it is. I mean, its cool we are getting a ride armor but it is just gonna be a giant hollow ride armor to place your figure/s in it with just possible basic articulation for it. So where exactly they are charging me the $100 or over (assuming if it is) for it?

On a side note, i just gotten vile a few days ago and he looks epic. love the color they gave him, looks kinda metalic. also lol at the glass of bourbon (or wiskey ). so what you think of the figure?

  22. @Alantor: Please don’t crush my hopes like that. I really like Shooting Star Mega Man… :(

Honestly, to me, he’s the coolest looking Mega Man. I just really dig his design (and it’s what got me interested in his world).

  23. NONAME says:

60 bucks for Sigma would be no problem at all, as long as it doesn’t break as easily as the earlier figures did! Ride armor too, 100 bucks would not be s bad for something so cool.

  24. Alantor says:

    @Clown Prince of Crime

Sorry about that. I liked Shooting Star MegaMan too, but… I don’t mean to sound rude or anything, but Shooting Star MegaMan is not well liked, except for some Star Force fans. Sorry about that. I wished for SSMM to be a D-Arts figure too, but we just have to wait and see.

  25. megafreak says:

What they need to do (and i hope they are reading this now) is make new items and not remake things that have come out in the past like the ride armor or other x armors, none of that random stuff that came out a few years ago, since they started with the X line finish it, bring on sigma of course, and some mavericks like storm eagle, and chill penguin. Then move on to X2 and pull that line out when it gets there. These new figures are way better than the older ones, i have the bit and x3 vile (very rare items) but having everyone from the X series would be the best!

  26. Genesis0301 says:

@ZeroX_Syaoran, if you’re interested with the Zero Type 2, I’m selling mine, and i don’t use paypal, just bank deposit will be fine. just search for my name in ebay.ph.

  27. Dampiel says:

I wish people would stop saying that Bandai/Tamashii shouldn’t redo things from the Mega Armor line. I mean why shouldn’t they do designs that happen to be in an almost twenty year old toy line? Now I’m not saying that I don’t want figures that have never been done(X-2 armor X is a big want for me or some Mavericks) but there are some I’d like to see redone like X-3 armor X, Fake Zero, and X-3 VaVa
