25th Anniversary Rock/Techno Soundtracks Details and Delays (Updated)

TEAM Entertainment has added some new info about the upcoming Rockman 25th anniversary rock and techno albums, as well as covers, but you’re probably not going to like all of it. Of  most pressing concern, the two albums have been delayed from their previous release date of August 29th to October 10th. So we’ll have to wait a bit longer before biting into those remixes covering Rockman 1~10.

There’s still no info as of yet about the track selections for each album, but we do know who is working on each now. The Rock Arrange Version will include the work of Kenji Ito (Mana, SaGa), Kazuki Ohta (FFXII, Valkyria Chronicles 3), Mitsuhiro Kandea (Odin Sphere, Tekken 6), Yoshimi Kudo (Tekken 6), Tetsuro Sato (Psyvariar), Hitoshi Sakimoto (Tactics Ogre, Breath of Fire V), Hiroshi Tanabe (The Prince of Tennis), Azusa Chiba (Let’s TAP), Yoshitaka Hirota (Chrono Trigger), and LivestRow. Meanwhile the Techno Arrange Version has Masahiro Iwata (Mushihimesama), Mitsuhiro Kaneda, Yoshimi Kudo, Hitoshi Sakimoto, Denji Sano (Love Synthesizer!), Yuto Takei (Gran Turismo 5), Azusa Chiba, Takeshi Hama (Devil May Cry), Far East Recording and Shinji Hosoe (Mega Man Network Transmission).

Hopefully more info will be coming soon. For now, TEAM Entertainment has setup this nifty little homepage for both soundtracks.

UPDATE: Although the track lists still aren’t known, there may be a hint. The covers seem to feature sprites of Robot Masters. The Rock Arrange Version has Heat, Bubble, Wood, Air, Crash, Metal and Elec, and the Techno Arrange Version has Heat, Skull, Pharaoh, Hard, Quick, Snake and Flash. However, there are some oddities with this. First off, it implies a heavy amount of focus on Mega Man 2; and Heat Man’s theme twice? Furthermore, some of the sprites seem to look… just odd, as if they were distorted or custom drawn. Until more information comes to light, I wouldn’t say these sprites represent the album tracks for certain.

    The covers are frikin bad, like frikin bad, not gonna judge the music of course, but so far they are putting zero effort in the packages for the 25th anniversary goods.

  2. Lumine1412 says:

    delay it one more day and it would be my birthday

  3. Sammy says:

    Shinji Hosoe? Awesome! I was playing Network Transmission earlier today!!

    And… Yoshitaka Hirota? This is going to be amazing!!

    Ito?! Mana Series?! SaGa Series?! Man, this is like a dream!!

    Masahiro Iwato too?! I love Mushihimesamas OST!! Hey didn’t Hitoshi Sakimoto work on that to…

    *sees Sakimoto on this list. *

    Sakimoto?

    Not only Tactics and BoF, but… Gradius V? Radiant Silvergun? Really?? Sakimoto?

    Working on a RockMan Album?

    Okay, yeah, exploding now, I NEED THESE.

  4. Ian Dimas says:

    These covers are terrible but then again, the ones for the 20th anniversary were very lazy too :/

  5. OrdoRaptus says:

    Looks like I gotta get money before October 10th!

  6. Advent Axl says:

    So we’re just getting CDs?

  7. RADIX says:

    There’s some very talented artists on board here, but my God, that album art is bland. (The 20th anniversary CDs’ album art wasn’t too impressive either, but they were still better than this)

  8. EngineR2 says:

    If that is a correct guess, as far as track listing…

    WHY is it ALWAYS heavy focus on Mega Man 2?!?! It’s almost like no other game in the series ever existed! Only this game.

    Aside from that, Shinji Hosoe is back! I can’t wait to hear all of these remixes, regardless of what game it came from.

  9. McWhalen says:

    Bland cover with that terrible logo!!! My poor eyes.

    Well lets hope we get decent remixes…unlike Megaman 9 ones. UGhhh

  10. Rock Miyabi says:

    If the covers are actual hints, I’m less concerned about seeing Heat on both albums (I mean, RM2 Wily Stage 1 was on both last time *shrug*) and more concerned about Heat/Snake/Quick being on the Techno version again 5 years later, and the possibility that they are all Hosoe’s versions from the previous Techno arrange album because someone wanted to take the laziest route possible…hopefully that’s just being unnecessarily cynical.

    I’d assume the variety will be more abundant, and wish that more space will be dedicated to new mixes, rather than filling up the CD with Original Short Versions again. I’d be good with a 15-20~ish track album. 7 and 8 especially should see some added love, since they’ve been left out of the official arrange CDs. Bass’ theme has gotta pop up on one of these. And once again, I hold out meager hope for some rockin’ Wily Capsule themes/medleys.

  11. HeatPhoenix says:

    The Rockman 9 mixes weren’t BAD, they were just not what we expected.

  12. EngineR2 says:

    @Rock Miyabi:

    Duuuude…. I didn’t even think about the possibility of Shinji Hosoe’s contributions being music that’s already been heard by most of us. I hope this isn’t the case.

  13. RedrazerZero says:

    Alright people got the, needs more variety of mixes from different games, take out short versions, Shinji Hosoe, boring cover art topics out the way…. The rock album should have gotten vets from the Rock genre, like they did with Tohru Iwao. It’s like Rockman Rock is filled with orchestral symphonic-like composers. The techno album looks like a more authentic gathering…

  14. Flame says:

    how boring. yet another set of Classic rockman CD’s that have more classic remixes.

    How bout doing something other than remixes? You cant pacify us with just that, Capcom.

  15. RedrazerZero says:

    @Flame^
    I agree with this, I can’t help myself. Good originals are better than great remixes for me…

  16. jad says:

    25th Anniversary Rock/Techno Soundtracks! Now in 2 flavors! Hard Rock Eye Bleed! And Techno Vomit!

    Joke aside…I seriously have to agree with the people going on about the covers..I mean ok cool music but…urgh..Then no why more music? I feel just like that green vomit cover now. But meh new tunes are new tunes I guess.

  17. ^They look more like strawberry and green apple to me… but maybe I’m just hungry.

  18. jad says:

    @Clown Prince of Crime

    I think you’re hungry heh.

  19. mainfinger says:

    Huh… well these are a lot of names I wasn’t expecting at all. Also, some of the credits are interesting. Particularly Yoshitaka Hirota for Chrono Trigger. Pretty sure he only did sound effects for that game, not music, but I guess he still “technically” worked on the game.

    Still, he’s got plenty of other composer credits and hey, he plays in Uematsu’s post-Black Mages rock band, Earthbound Papas, so he makes sense for the rock album.

  20. ManwholovesRockamusic says:

    Call me when I should care anymore that the 25th anniversary is just music which I love music ,but seeing that there are great artists maybe might make a good effort to listen to on Youtube and thats it. Sorry I am kinda having a bad day in general ,but other that its neat news none the less.

  21. Heat Man says:

    @mainfinger: It’s because all the games he actually composed music for I’d never heard of. Chrono Trigger at least I recognize. :P

  22. Servbot numba 1 says:

    Hello guys, in wich site will it be available once it’s released? I’m brazilian, so I need to know a good place that ships internationally. Thank you!

  23. Rock Miyabi says:

    @Servbot numba 1:

    They are already up for preorder at Play-Asia and AmiAmi for sure. Don’t know about any other popular import sites, but I’m sure more will as we get closer to the release date.

  24. yammark says:

    I can’t wait to hear this music .
    The techno album [20th aniversary] i still listen to it and never get bored .

  25. Matt says:

    You can find a lot of better remixes on sites like OcRemix and YouTube anyway, really..
