Tune In to Capcom Unity Tomorrow for the Mega Man 7 Showdown

Feels like it’s been a while, what with Comic Con and everything going on, but the Capcom Unity crew are getting back to their year of Mega Man live stream plays. This time it’s Brelston who will be challenging Mega Man 7, Mega Man’s big leap into 16-bit (Soccer was hardly a leap, sorry). Naturally there are prizes to be won; one lucky viewer may even find themselves walking away with a complete copy of Rockman 7!

Mega Man 7 holds a special place in my heart. It doesn’t quite stand out among the other classics, but it has so much neat stuff going on; a lot of thought and detail to the weapons, stage gimmicks, enemies and so on. It’s hard to believe they cobbled it all together in a scant three months, as Inafune once commented.

So be sure to jump to Capcom Unity tomorrow. Watch a fun Mega Man game, win some prizes, and see if Brelston will be able to clear the latest challenges!

Better go thru the trouble of getting the ProtoShield.

I have a full Super Famicom Rockman collection ever since I went to a retro store near here, all for the low low price of 5100 yen (all used of course).
    Individual prices were:
    Rockman X: 700 yen (about $8)
    Rockman X2: 1100 yen (about $13)
    Rockman X3: 1300 yen (about $16)
Rockman and Forte: 1300 yen (about $16)
    Rockman 7: 700 yen (about $8)
The SFC itself was 4525 yen. (about $60)

I’m dying to see how Brett handles UFO Wily.

Forgot to mention Rockman Soccer for 200 yen (about $2.50).
Easily the most common of them all.

I’ve been looking forward to this one, ever since missing 6′s!

  6. Heat Man says:

@Skybane: I’m sure Brett will just be dying.

I can’t make it due to the fact that it’s on a work day.

Also, I DO HAVE the Super Nintendo cartridge in my collection and paid literally only $12.99 + tax, now THAT’S a great deal!

And even to celebrate my rare find, I did my first ever Graph Paper Screen (took 20 pages in size to do) of Mega Man vs. Dr. Wily as seen in the Intro of the game. You can see it right here in my deviantart gallery. http://dragontamer272.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d4w6p5u

I’m not crazy about Mega Man 7, but it has some of the most amusingly nonsensical enemy designs. Robots that rise from robo-coffins? Check. Robot dinosaurs that hatch from robo-eggs? You better believe that’s a check! Love that stuff.

  9. Duckaiser says:

I also greatly enjoy Mega Man 7, for being a little bit different. I love how the weapons effect bosses in different ways (did you know some powers HELP the bosses? Actually maybe Mega Man 2 did a little, but it wasn’t done as interestingly)

I hope that guy is ready for Wily Capsule 7. Omigosh, what a boss fight…

Designed to make sure you will get damaged no matter what.

I own this game for SNES and, honestly, it’s one of my favorites! I’ve beaten it with no E-tanks or Weapon Tanks. I like this one a lot more than the 8bit revival games, personally. There’s so many little details and things you could only do with that 16-bit boost.

  12. RegalX7 says:

MM7′s one of my favorite Classic series games, but I still always dread reaching the last boss…

Three months? Can’t imagine the amount of lack of sleep.

Good episode but Slashman is cheap and final boss is ****.
