Looking for Something to Keep Your D-Arts Mega Man X In?

Click to embiggen.
Just ask a Transformers fan: Where the official toy companies fail to come through, you can often count on the fans to do something impressive. That is, when Hasbro failed to come through with things such as a new version of Springer, the giant Devastator, or even a trailer for Ultra Magnus, enterprising fans have come through.
You might be asking “what does this have to do with Mega Man?” Well, remember that cool Dr. Light capsule that Bandai kept showing off for their fully-armored Mega Man X D-Arts figure? The one they had no intention of producing?
Well, a fan going by “BC Direct” apparently got tired of waiting, and made his own. And what’s more, he’ll make one for you as well, for a price. Just ask him on his Facebook or Twitter (correction: he’d rather you e-mailed him at bcdirect720 [at] gmail.com) for a quote, and you can place an order for your very own light-up (or would that be “Light”-up?) capsule to display your X figure… or to bury somewhere for someone to come across in about 100 years. Hey, it’s your money (but if you decide to do that, we want pics).

I must have harassed the poor Bandai rep at Otakon 10 million times to try to get him to sell me that capsule.
I will definitely be hitting Mr. BC Direct up.
As much as I enjoy the concept and applaud this guy’s work, the execution just isn’t quite there for me.
I agree with MegaSeveN, but still pretty cool.
Anyone know what he’s charging for this? I don’t really see any reason I should have to contact the guy directly to find out…
I’m not all that impressed. It looks like it’s a custom design, and it’s cool that it lights up, but I would still rather have the official bandai one. This one doesnt really look like the capsule’s I’ve come to know from the megaman series. Probably because the top isnt very dome like and is very…flat…I know that might sound like I’m splitting hairs, but it really does make a difference. I’d rather display my figure in something more authentic looking. Maybe if he made versions that looked like the official one? Or maybe if he colored this one red, it could be a Zero capsule variation.
I applaud the effort, but at the same time I feel as if it lacking details that would have made it truly special. Its too smooth, there should be grooves in the upper and lower parts. It is also shaped in correctly, to cylindrical, not oval enough on the top and bottoms pieces. As something to make for yourself, it is awesome, but as something to sell, it lacks details.
I have this capsule that a mewtwo toy came in that looks almost the same, green glass and blue metal, but I don’t think he’d fit…also I don’t have one…and they’re sold out…
Gileum: You could ask and see if he’ll make one in red, since these seem to be made-to-order.
As for the look, maybe he didn’t want to risk infringing on Capcom’s design? Then again, the designs changed in the games after the Super NES, then again after the PS1… I don’t even remember what the latter ones looked like.
Looks like he painted a battery powered lantern to me T_T
Think how fun it would be for someone in the future to find this in a “time capsule” with a message saying….to play Mega Man X games, lol.
