Get Me Off the Moon: Support Morishita Reika’s Music to Support Mega Man Legends 3

One of the biggest disappointments of the Mega Man Legends 3 Project is that we never received the opportunity to express our interest in the game through downloading the Mega Man Legends 3 Prototype Version, a factor which Capcom had stated would determine whether or not the project would move forward. Following disappointment, displeasure, and a breaking of trust, fans were left to wonder whether MegaMan Volnutt and friends would ever have another chance.
Well, according to Get Me Off the Moon, aka “100,000 Strong for Mega Man Legends 3” (who are currently 89,131 strong), there may be a way for us to not only make our voices heard, but possibly get that Prototype Version released as well, all while listening to yet another strong voice.
And no, signing up for the Devroom or Facebook groups is not required.
In the latest edition of Roll’s Wrapup, their International Strategies Team in Japan met with Morishita Reika, singer of Rockman DASH theme songs “another sun” and “Your Wind is Blowing” and supporter of the Mega Man Legends 3 fan movement. As you may recall, she had recently reached out to the fans for input into her new arrangements.
Get Me Off the Moon reports that she possesses strong contacts within Capcom Japan, and offers the following:
To support our community, she is going to release her Mega Man Legends soundtrack reprisals at the end of May or early July, tentatively. During the meeting yesterday, she said that if her new soundtrack makes over 20,000 sales, Capcom Japan is likely to release the Mega Man Legends 3 Prototype Version on the e-shop. Although there are no guarantees, keep in mind she is a well-networked individual. Fans in Japan in general do not expect an announcement of a new Mega Man title until next year, and the direction of the Mega Man brand is still undecided. We will do whatever it takes to support those in and out of Capcom Japan still fighting quietly for us.
This is a rather interesting development, one which gives us hope, albeit tempered with a light skepticism. By which we mean, if Keiji Inafune himself had to fight so hard to even get what we have seen of the project underway… well, we just imagine she would need to have extremely strong and well-placed connections within the company.
But who knows? Maybe she does. The question is, are you willing to purchase her soundtrack and take a chance at finding out?
Well, we are, and as soon as we find out a way to help fans outside of Japan participate in purchasing the soundtrack, we’ll let you know right here on The Mega Man Network.

In my opinion, the best news here is the implication that Capcom does, in fact, still have the Legends 3 material stored away, as opposed to having deleted it all. That is the part of this that gives me the most hope
Still, 20,000 sales should be easy enough with 100,000 Strong alone already over four times that, even accounting for potential alternate accounts, blind followers, and the like. However, what worries me is the chance for localization if this even comes to pass.
Oh, and the generic paranoia that this is really nothing more than a publicity stunt.
Well there’s one thing this girl has that Inafune doesn’t….
And that is a vagina
She might be having sexual relations with a high ranking Capcom dude and therefore could easily get what she wants
Wow! What a way to get money out of us! Buy a CD and MAYBE they’ll release the demo? MAYBE???????? That’s bulls***! Just bulls***!
89,131 isn’t still enough!? We have to buy CDs?! Man there better be a bonus included with the CD like some artwork or such.
@MarthKoopa
That was extremely dark and blunt, yet logical in its own twisted way
@Lumine1412
LOL!!! That’s what I thought too.
Like, HOW RUDE! Yet… does seem possible…
But as for Capcom, it still won’t be enough. Bunch of greedies!
@Megafan
If you appreciate the music, and appreciate the artist, buying the CD isn’t really that farfetched of an idea. It’s not like Capcom is saying “buy this Legends CD and we might maybe possibly think about thinking about considering releasing a finished prototype that can do nothing but make us money at this point”, it’s a music artist saying that she’s releasing a CD and it might come with the bonus of a chance for the aforementioned prototype to shine. Either way, unlike the majority of Capcom’s recent DLC shenanigans, buying a CD will at least give you something that you didn’t own already.
Well this is nice. A way to further the cause along, and get awesome music. Heck yeah!
Lots of “if”, still better than nothing…
20 000 for a song for a game that’s over 10 years old?
Uhhh… right. As if.
@MarthKoopa
That is disrespectful, rude and disgusting of you to say.
And I don’t think it is a positive at all that we could get the game like that, all it means is that some high ranking Capcom dude doesn’t know how to run a business.
Not that what you say is anything more than baseless speculation.
Well we women (I’m female) are good at getting what we want so I see some hope, And no we don’t always have to resort to our lower regions for that, don’t underestimate us
Anyways now I’ve to save up for a cd..
Interesting news, but one I have to remain highly skeptical about.
I wonder if there’s a chance that Capcom Unity could sell her CD on their store.
I think someone should try asking them about it.
The artwork is nice, but can we see a closer view of it? :3
If it will help get the prototype released, sign me up.
@MarthKoopa: Get out of my life.
I doubt this will mean anything. If it gets bought, even if it sells 20,000, Capcom won’t release the prototype. They’ll just reap the sales from it and laugh.
God bless this woman. Put your backs into this lads! We’ve almost reached our goal!
Hope she’s putting her back into it. ZING!
I should be happy about this, but all I feel is more loathing for Capcom. That so many individuals are cashing in from the shunned fans hardily seems coincidence.
And yes…the name of the game is cash, but exactly what are we paying for? The right to play a game that we’re gonna have to pay for? Doesn’t anyone else find that to be incredibly screwed up?
Yep, that’s pretty screwed up.
But the songs are great so I’m game.
If you want nice things, you must pay money for them. That’s just the way the world works. Besides, you are getting a nice Legends Music CD out of it. It’s not like you’ll get nothing.
So how do we buy this?
MavrickIndigo: We’ll tell you when we know; the release date isn’t even set up yet.
Also, I think people have the wrong idea here. So far as I can tell, Capcom has zilch to do with the release of this CD; Reika is doing it in part for the fans, and hoping that if they come out and support this, maybe someone at Capcom will take notice.
…that, and she apparently/purportedly has the connections to make them take notice, but even then, it’s not a sure thing.
Either way, I don’t think Capcom is seeing a dime from this; it’s to show them the money they could be making, I suppose.
I would happily join “100,000 strong” except it requires joining facebook… and that’s not going to happen, no thank you.
But this? This I can do.
Its nice of her to do so. I am happy about it.
Still 100,000 strong is getting closer to its goal to reach the 100,000. We are in the final stretch. Thank you for those who support the efforts made so far.
Well, I’m interested. Might as well get some new music to listen to.
I’m just worried about importing costs, though. The only time I ever imported a CD, it cost me almost 30 dollars. Which, given the US’s current economy, COULD be worse, so I’m willing to lay down some cash for this disc.
Still, it’s nice to support vocal artists in general.
That’s a cool drawing. =3
I knew she was going to cash in on this eventually. I’m not mad, though.
Maybe she has some dirt on somebody, lol…
I look forward to the release.
I can’t see anyone having a stronger Mega Man related pull than Inafune did. And I can’t see this person having a stronger overall pull than he did either. I mean,he was either making the games or supervising others how to do so and she was only involved in singing the songs so something is weird here. Not saying that she doesn’t have pull, but come on.
And about the sleeping with high ranking officials part….I’m not saying she’s not pretty, but I believe people with that much money and power could easily go out and get some super hot model…or a call girl…or whatever else if they wanted to.
What I would love to see however,is a MML 3 article that says either yes it will be released or no it won’t,and not tons of hypothetical ones.
Reading all these articles about “well,if the fans can do this….then maybe, just maaaybe MML3 will be released….maybe” is redundant.
All it does is tease and torment MML 3 fans and get them riled up yet again. I’m not a big MML fan,but I feel bad for you guys because it seems like every week there’s another article like this coming up that’s dangling the carrot in front of you once again.
And why not a 100,000 strong for Mega Man Universe? It was cancelled too. =P
Speaking of sales, how much is an average number for game soundtrack CD? I mean; is 20,000 an amount they usually expect, or is it a bit high for this sort of thing?
@gutsman004: Well, who knows what she may have done in her younger days. Maybe she has “special talents” lol.
And there’s always the possibility of her having an actual RELATIONSHIP with someone, rather than just being “cuddle” buddies.
Me, I’m not holding my breath for the game, but I love music, and more MM music is rarely ever a bad thing. There are probably MML fans who would melt from just having her sing “Another Sun” to them personally. lol
<__>
I do find this a rather insensitive and brash “revival” stunt for her to pull, though. There’s been capitalism simmering beneath the surface of Reika’s “support” of the MML3 movement ever since she first mentioned it. She’s not very good at masking her desire to benefit from being part of the MML franchise. Or maybe she’s just that honest and transparent.
But still, I’d buy it, and am in full support. I’m not going to begrudge a person’s capitalistic actions if I’m getting some sweet music out of it.
I’ll do it. I’ll buy her new soundtrack. I want to show my support for her. She’s awesome!
I am EXTREMELY skeptical about this… but if there’s even a chance then I’ll go for it.
I look forward to learning how to buy it when the time comes.
@ Forci: Keeping old documents for later reference is common business practice, especially for large companies oriented to the production industry.
Only two possible cases otherwise is to either prevent reproducing the content, or plain stupid.
@MarthKoopa: This comment needs to be removed. All comments on this site should be kid friendly, if at all possible. The stupidest thing you could say, that was very rude. Someone should implement a report comment button for this website.
personally, I don’t think she’s sleeping with anyone at capcom, I’m more thinking that she has young connections to offer to higher ups in capcom to sleep with.
sure, there’s running a business… but let’s not forget that we’re talking about the japanese. They often forgo logic when running a business (so does everyone else, but japan really lets tradition get in the way, while good old christian americans just like to appear like they do)
japan has a very odd way of doing things at times.
also, so, we all have to buy an album to get the possibility but not guarantee that a demo will get released, then we all have to buy this demo for the possibility, not guarantee that an actual game will come out of it. Capcom has done it again! they found something that’s more bulljive than dlc unlockable content that’s already in the game and endless DLC! Now they make you spend all that money before the game even comes out!
if we ever get as far as the demo, I bet there’ll be some sort of theme to buy next, then something on the vita and ps3 to buy like premium avatars. then they’ll release legends 1 and 2 as ps1 classics and expect us to buy it (well, I’d buy legends 1, but not 2, that game is garbage). then have mega man 64 on virtual console that you have to buy in order for the final game to come out. they’ll cover production costs before the game even comes out!
https://www.facebook.com/pages/100000-Strong-for-Bringing-Back-Mega-Man-Universe/212341525502946
there is a 100000 strong for bringing back mega man universe… it has about 70 likes…
also, there is nothing that is overly non-child friendly about marthakoopa’s remark. one is the name of a part of a woman, the actual scientific name, and many children have one, so I really don’t think there is anything really offensive about the word,
as for the relations part, also not directly offensive. It’s something that happens and is a natural part of life. no one being crass about it or going into depth, it’s just a normal description. If a your child is reading it with you and asks what that is, simply tell him you’ll tell him when you’re older. otherwise, why is your child online without adult supervision?
if they’re old enough to be online alone, then they’ve probably had sex ed, so nothing new there except maybe something about the way the world works that they haven’t learned yet.
I’d say “crapcom” is probably less child friendly a term than anything said in that comment. grow up
I’ll be buying the CD just because I want it. If it helps bring more awareness to Legends in the process then that’s just a bonus.
P.S. There’s way too much childish talk about sleeping with people. It’s completely left field and obnoxious.
left field? but that’s a very common occurrence. it gets people places, helps you climb corporate ladders.
getting ahead in life is about who you know, who you’re willing to sleep with, who you can extort, and who you can pay off.
childish talk is denying that it happens and is a real possibility, I’m sure if an attractive celebrity were to offer themself to you in exchange on you changing your opinion on this matter, you’d definitely change your tune… unless you’re an ultra [insert religion here] conservative zealot… but then there are easier ways to sway you.
