I Am Error Podcast Talks Quirky Mega Man Spinoffs

I Am Error #2 – “The Blue Bomber’s Bombs”Remember when we posted about the opportunity to post comments to be read on a podcast about Mega Man’s quirky spinoff games? No? Well, I can’t say I blame you. The podcast was delayed repeatedly. But it’s here, now!

I Am Error is a new(ish) podcast on WingDamage.com dedicated to talking about weird and wacky games. Episode 2 is all about Mega Man. The show discusses Mega Man’s Soccer, Battle & Chase, Super Adventure Rockman, and (by request) Wily and Right no Rockboard – That’s Paradise.

In addition to the standard hosts, they have a few familiar faces you might recognize: namely Heat Man and myself (Main Finger). Let this tide you over until the next MegaCast (it’s coming, I swear!). And be sure to stick around to the end of the show when they keep their word by reading and discussing feedback from readers.

What had me perplexed was everybody was saying that MM Soccer was too hard. I didn’t think so. As I recall there is a sweet spot in front of and up a bit of the goal where when you kick the ball it will almost always go in. There’s one just below as well.

What I would do is score at least three or four goals and then play defense for the next 9 minutes. That’s what I hated about this game. If you play story mode you had to play all ten minutes of a match. DAMN! 8 stages plus 4 Wily stages. Then you get no ending!?

The one thing I really liked about MM Soccer was the sprite work. Not the best, but very expressive on all characters. Boy, were there a lot of them. Imagine the time it took to animate them all.
