D-Arts X “Comic Version” Coming as Special Edition
Bandai is rolling out their Tamashii Nation 2011 event in Akihabara this November, from the 25th to the 27th. Among the special figures they plan to have on hand, one is a “Comic Version” of their original Rockman X figure. Specifically, it’s meant to resemble Yoshihiro Iwamoto’s Rockman X design from his famed manga series, with the biggest difference being a new face plate with big, puppy dog eyes. The color scheme appears to be altered too, but I don’t really notice any alterations to the design form.
The figure will be available for ¥3,500, though few other details (such as, perhaps, alternate accessories) are known yet. I might have to try and run over for one of these. At the very least I could run into Ucchy-san!

Oh my God, that looks so positively gorgeous. Dangflabbit, with all these merch, people are gonna go broke!
Not that I’m complaining.
It’s amusing, but I can’t say Yoshihiro had any effect on my childhood, unfortunately (I suppose). I won’t feel bad for missing this one. I need to get the Metallic version soon though.

Meh… Not really exciting to me… I know it looks perfect and all in the picture but given how the other D-Arts Rockman figures have paint errors and flaws and such, no telling what this one will have. I will only pick this up if he comes with different accessories and not just a different color scheme.
I… I… actually didn’t like those manga or X’s design in those.
I guess now we can all hope they’ll put out a Merti figure, eh? ;D

I always wanted to see how Iwamoto would handle the X8 designs, since I felt those leaned a little more towards his style anyway. Actually, I think he did such a picture once…

@ Phaelin: A Garage Kit Merty is on the way, but from the looks of it, big toy companies only want X and Zero in their toylines.
I think I noticed the changes in color on this figure.
-The hands are the same color as X’s torso and thighs.
-The normally silver pieces on X’s chestplate are instead purple.
-I think the light blue accents on X’s helmet have become silver. Not quite sure on this one.
-D-Arts Manga X’s face is paler in color compared to regular D-Arts X.
That seems to be it, I think.
hopefully they will have a faceplate of X bawling his eye out in a total charmingly narmastic way (one of Yoshihiro’s X signature feature)

ah yes X still looks Beasty as ever much better then that Zero model but then again im not a Zero fan…. *Zero Fans…. dont hate just b/c i said i dont like em* every game with Zero was easy mode anyways lolololololol
Am I the only one who doesn’t dig this version? Maybe because I never read the manga, but this X looks… weird.
