“We are ROCK-MEN!!” Track List and Delicious Samples
Got some good fodder today for you music lovers. The album’s full 17 tracks have been made known in an update on Rockman Unity, and I must admit they’re rather interesting. The tracks are:
1. We are ROCK-MEN!
2. GAME START (Rockman)
3. DARKMAN STAGE (SIDE-R) (Rockman 5)
4. CUTMAN STAGE (Rockman)
5. OPENING STAGE (Rockman X)
6. OPENING STAGE (Rockman X2)
7. ZERO (Rockman X3)
8. ARMOR ARMARGE STAGE (Rockman X)
9. ENDING (Rockman 3)
10. DARKMAN STAGE (PIANO Ver.) (Rockman 5)
11. BOSS (Rockman 6)
12. STAGE SELECT (Rockman 3)
13. DARKMAN STAGE (SIDE-D) (Rockman 5)
14. FLASHMAN STAGE (Rockman 2)
15. ENDING (Rockman 5)
16. TITLE (Rockman 2)
17. FLUTTER VS. GAZEL SHAFT (Rockman DASH)
Kind of eclectic, but not in the way I’d have imagined. And dang, someone sure is a big fan of the Dark Man stage theme, it seems. The addition of the track from Rockman DASH seems like a nice, sentimental touch though. Furthermore, we also have a handful of samples from the e-Capcom page:

Additionally, the Rockman Unity report has a video preview with the Rockman 3 stage select track. Again the album is releasing on September 21st, for ¥2,100 (roughly $28 US). Check our previous story for more details. I’ll sure be picking up a copy!

Oh I cannot wait to pick up a copy! Awesome sounds!
There is some kind of live event on niconico this week, can you elavorate on that Heat Man?.
I can’t wait I might pic this one up, I like the samples. Finally after a while there are some other official series arrangements besides Classic and Zero.
i have played every megaman game (except battle network series 4 and up) and the only tunes i recognize of the samples by heart is armored armadillo and Flash man. im not getting this as im not a big music guy but i can appreciate the work done
So far I only like the Stage Select theme
Cue the onslaught of people asking Heat to start being their primary merchandise import contact. ;D
I was hoping there wasn’t going to be anything already covered on the 20th Anniversary Rock Arrange disc, so seeing Cut, a solo boss theme and solo title theme wasn’t what I was expecting. I was really hoping for some kind of Wily Capsule or Sigma Final Battle track, so that kinda let me down. Unless for whatever reason Rockman 6 Boss is Wily Capsule. Still a little too Classic heavy, when I thought there would have been a tad more variety. But still, looks like it’s worth grabbing.
Funny how only one sample would really fit as rock, though, despite how I dig the acoustics of the Rockman 3 ending. I take it everything from Track 10 on is gonna get this (Side D) label, as in it’s more of a dance/techno/electronica/keyboard heavy arrangement. At least that’s what the samples let on.
Can’t wait to hear the X and X2 opening stages, and love the initial Darkman (Side-R) and Armadillo mixes.
I couldn’t even recognize the melody in the Darkman SIDE-D one; I’m glad the other one (SIDE-R, I guess?) is so incredible, or I’d be disappointed. The Armored Armadillo one was really good, though. I’ll need to make a note of the 21st…
Haha, wow, they sure do love Dark Man’s theme… but, can’t blame ‘em, it’s a good theme. ;D
I didn’t care much for the Side-D arrangement of it, though, like a few other people here, but man do I still remember being blown away from the Side-R arrangement. And I like all the other samples I’ve heard here, too, so overall, I think this may just be yet another MM-related thing I’ll need to add to my wishlist.
…but will Wheel Gator ever get any love? His theme was always one of my favorites, but horribly underrepresented in remixed. =(
*remixes
All four sound good. Bring on Vol. 2.
Wow, those are some really sweet mixes. Shame the Gazelshaft one isn’t available atm, though.
…This is actually the first time I’ve heard of this album, when was it announced? Man, I must have really started to miss out on some things…
It sounds pretty good.
@Dr. Jerk
A while ago, when there was this video of these two japanese music men being generally badass.
Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude these samples are blowing my mind. This album is going to be freaking amazing. And Armored Armadillo is on here? They are clearly trying to kill me with awesomeness.
More like “We are DARK-MEN!!”, amirite?
Not really feeling the Side-D version yet, like everyone else, but perhaps it’s one of those tracks you have to listen to all the way through to appreciate. Otherwise, loving what we’ve gotten a taste of. The Armored Armadillo remixes I’ve heard tend to get really mushed up and unnecessarily noisy, so it’s really something to hear such a clean take on it.
WOW! the samples are fantastic can not wait to pick this up!!
ASDFJBAGEL THE MM3 ENDING TRACKS SOUNDS AWESOME
BLAAAA
The 9th and 17th tracks will be the best. ♥
I may be bricked for this, but I thought the Armored Armadillo sample was just average. It didn’t really feel like they did a whole lot to the track. It’s not bad, but it’s not wowing me. And I’m not familiar enough with Darkman’s theme to really appreciate that sample.
Flashman’s sample sounded like it was constantly building up to a big instrumental jam, and only near the end of the sample do you realize, that “jam” is never coming. That disappointed me a little, as the build-up is sweet.
But the Mega Man 3 ending theme… Wow. That was breath-taking. This is pure magic. Simple, but so lovely. This makes everything sound so much better.
Wow, really cool and surprising selection of tracks! I think I’m looking forward to Mega Man 5′s ending song the most.
(Eargasing) WANT. T^T Desire hurts so good…
From the samples heard here, I can already tell this is going to be one HOT mix album of Rockman music! And then there’s still the Back in Blue (MM9) remix album to look forward to as well. ^^
This year may be bad in terms of new Mega Man games, but remixes of stage themes (and more, like titles and endings) are having a GREAT year! Please keep ‘em coming!
This is impressive… colour me interested now.
I’ll be keeping an ear out for this one. I can never tell if one of these releases will cater to my love of music or not. So far though it’s sounding really good.
Also this may be a bit off topic (but about a posting a few weeks ago)… but does anyone know if the D-Arts Zero figure will basically cost the same when it’s released in NA as it would to buy from an import site? Is it worth waiting for an NA release, or is it still going to cost roughly 50-75 dollars.
Figure I’d get feedback from other Mega Man fans.
I have ALWAYS loved Dark Man’s theme and wondered why it never got any love. AND NOW IT HAS THREE TRACKS ON ONE ALBUM.
Now we just need someone to do, say, five or six kickass mixes of Gravity Man, and my life will be complete.
@rnn
urrite.
SIDE-D isn’t working for me, naw.
@Trigger
Skull Man, Gravity Man and Dark Man’s themes are my favorite in classic Rockman 1-6.
“Gazel Shaft”?… ok I’ll admit, even tho it’s spelled insanely wrong, it sounds like a damn awesome name for a ship.
