Following the opening of the first issue, some people have expressed concerns about a slower pace. But today, you need not worry: business is about to pick up.
You can check it out for yourself below as Mega Man begins his long, long fight for everlasting peace in Mega Man #2, which is already reaching subscribers and should reach comic book shops and other retailers soon in the coming weeks.

First off, I think most people have it right. They’re calling him Blues much like Mega Man is being called Rock. It’s his original name, before the upgrade/localization.
And while I don’t think he was fully upgraded to Protoman yet by that point, we don’t really know what equipment he might have had on him when he did disappear. For all we know, he’s had the Protoshield the entire time. I think it’s safe to guess he at least had something covering his eyes (either just some cool shades or a full-on visor like his helmet has now) way back then. However…confusing a Sniper Joe for him is a little bit much. Or maybe Dr.Light is thinking that Wily found Blues and upgraded him (which is sorta what happened).
Also I usually start with Bomb Man in Mega Man 1. He’s not THAT tough and the Hyper Bomb takes care of Guts Man pretty quick. From there it’s fairly easy.
Another theory as to how I think Dr. Light confused Sniper Joe for Blues is probably due to the fact that both Blues and Sniper Joe share the exact same positioning stance. From a distance, it could be easy to confuse the eyes.
As for battle order, I used to start with Cut Man since he took the most damage from the Mega Buster but then I realized that I would have to replay Elec Man’s stage just to get the Magnet Beam. So, I stuck to Bomb Man afterwards as the starting bot.
Finally got my issue at my comic book store today. It’s really nice to see “Blues” being used as the birth name in this version.
@Sockie
…I know of Rocky’s original name (I really don’t use the series american names, any. I’ve always preferred the original names instead, but it’s only a matter of choice), but the last classic game released where he is called by his birth name was Rockman²/Mega Man Powered Up, and Capcom USA named him “Mega” instead of Rock (which sounds really bad), so, I thought they’d start to use this “new” name officially. That’s why I used “Mega” in my previous post…
(@Seraph X) I never said you didn’t know. And the whole “Mega” thing was apparently just an error that Capcom USA never wants to do again.
I received two issues of Mega Man #2. Any idea as to why? and they are both the original cover.
Let me have one I don’t have it yet.
