Waiting for Legends 3: A Tribute
Posted on October 24th, 2010 by Heat Man
Ok I’m taking a risk here. I’m posting this video without really having watched any of it yet, because I CANNOT watch more than a few seconds without completely cracking up. I apologize, Dashe, I know I’m a horrible person. However, I’ve been assured that the video is entirely clean. And really, when fans go to these lengths to create something like this, you just know the game is hotly anticipated. I know the rest of you have been creating your own Legends 3 themed musicals at your computers. Start recording them!
Thanks, Cleveland Rock!

it was cute
Words cannot describe how great that was
lol nice. I think this video speaks for a lot of people
That. Was. Hysterical.
Aw, I wanted to see her reaction to the announcement.
SO epic! So nice to see a fan so committed
Haha, that was awesome, boy howdy that is some dedication to be admired!
I love how there’s a ‘musical’ tag now, as if there will be more than one use of it.
Holy f***, that was inspiring. Very clever and well-done. Reminds me I need to get on arranging a Gradius musical.
That was amazing.
I feel like I’m the only one here who enjoys not having their ear canals raped and watching a terribly animated short.
Hah, a Shrek: The Musical spoof. Not bad, I rather liked how it summed up our general feelings towards the wait.
Man I know most Legends fans were obssesive ,but god I hope I never sounded like that…Thats just too much to hear the irony of it all I wonder who will sing the song how long it will take to make a megaman X9. No offense to any X fans of course ,but you gotta laugh inside because in some form all of us have a similarity.
@MXSora: Not to be all “Well, let’s see you do better in as little time” on ya, but uh..
…Let’s see you do something better in as little time?
It was cute.
That was cute. I can’t say that I relate to wanting it that bad over the years but the idea of it and the final annoucement gave me much excitement. That is to say that I’ve found over the years that when I anticipate something that much I’m usually pretty let-down when I get the release..That’s why I’m trying to stay as open-minded as possible and not dilute the joys of having this next title with dreams of “how-I-would’ve-done-it”.
Awesome
Yep, that about sums it up.
Said it at Protoman’s, will say it here.
Picking on Ryuusei ruined the video.
Girl singing sounds cute. If it’s a girl. Could be Mega Man 8.
God that was funny. Dashe’s voice is also very nice.
@Higaki Rinne
I thought it was the cherry on top :^)
You know what else is clean and Legend-based?
TauVertex’s Mega Man Legends Abridged. C’mon; at least feature the guy on a slow news day.
@ Hikagi Rinne
I agree with you.
People just hate on Ryuusei because they got nothing better to do.
I don’t plan on touching a Legends game anytime soon, thank you.
@rnn
Regardless whether I agree with you, “lets see what you got” is not a legitimate reason to bash his opinion.
First of all, this was fantastic. Kudos to the girl that put this together. Certainly sums up the experience Legends fans have had in the past almost-decade. Charmingly unprofessional presentation… great stuff.
Second of all,
@Higaki Rinne, BassDS:
Oh god, GET OVER IT. Seriously. How childish of you. And that’s coming from a fellow Star Force fan. Some people just can’t do anything but hate, I suppose. But hey, keep blindly defending Star Force from fellow Internet denziens. I’m sure Capcom, Geo, and Omega-Xis reeeeaaally appreciate it. I’m sure all the Legends here feel just TERRIBLE!
God, Mega Man fans are infuriating. There are so few sane ones out there.
And finally,
@MXsora
Do better in just as much time. Until then, nothing you say about this really has any merit. Thanks and come again!
@Ash Paulsen: *slow clap*
@Ash Paulsen
“Some people just can’t do anything but hate, I suppose”
Oh god the irony in this is almost palpable.
I only made that response exactly because I am so tired of Rockman fans arguing over which one of the seven series is more popular, deserving a sequel, fun to play, etc ,etc. I’m pretty sure RnR crew is going to feel bad and disappear once you tell everybody on the Internet how much you dislike it.
Could that Legends appreciation song go without hating on other series, be it fully serious or just played for fun?
Yes, Ryuusei is not exactly Rockman. Neither is DASH.
“Get over it.”
@HeatPhoenix: Hence the lampshading in my comment
Time is a horrible excuse. This was made in almost a month’s time and as a college student majoring in animation, I can easily say this was done haphazardly. If the quality of the art was better I wouldn’t care as much, but both the art and animation are mediocre. Plus her voice just tears at my ears.
ITT: internet fight
Video was fun, but I never cracked up. Still, it was certainly amusing.
o_o
Holy. Crap.
If I’d known this was going to catch on outside of Legends Station I certainly wouldn’t have started the visuals three days before the contest deadline or rushed to get it in on time.
Thanks a TON, Heat Man and Cleveland. And Heat, I really hope you managed to watch the rest of it between the time you posted this and today, because I definitely would have gone back and fixed the beginning, time permitting. >_<
@MXsora: It was made in 3 days. >_>
As someone who loves animation, I can say that the short was great. Anyone looking for more than a simple fan tribute – to a game announcement – needs to calm the hell down.
Well done.
Hey, leave him alone. MXsora is a busy guy. He’s gotta go tell his 4 year old niece that the crayon picture she drew for him is off model and her coloring is mediocre at best.
You’re damn right I am. I oughta slap her senseless for showing me such garbage.
Whoa, whoa, guys, let’s just calm down a bit, shall we?
At least warn us beforehand that you don’t like jokes, sarcasm or the like.
…
By the way, that was a joke.
Anyways, that video is pretty much the best thing ever.
I couldn’t stop laughing after watching it… the “pictures” shown in there made it even better. Especially that one of Teisel… never mind. >_<
I must not like Legends as much as the rest of you, because I only chortled a couple times.
I also have barely played Legends, Burst, yet I found myself smiling through the whole thing: I especially LOL’ed at her:
♪Legends 3 had better get here, we’re all getting old & fat.♫
♪No one needs this StarForce BLEEP Whoops did I say that?♫
I guess the way this song was made reminds of the popular 90s Disney songs, and while I barely started SF1 and watched only the english dub of the anime, I can appreciate she was making a friendly jest on the game. Hell, its too fracken obviously it was nothing more than that. You people read too much from all this blogging crap.
That video was really funny and really enjoyable. I think it summarizes players’ feelings as they’ve waited for a new favorite title really well (acknowledging that nearly a decade is certainly longer than the vast majority). I even thought the singing was pretty good–a normal person who can carry a tune. It gave it a charm and made it easy to empathize with the singer.
But the video would have been better if she had chosen to remain positive rather than denegrate other series. I’m sure the words, “We don’t need that [insert series name here; doesn't really matter which, it's been said about just about all of them somewhere or other, and the idea is what I'm really against more than this one particular instance of it] ****” have occurred to many of us in frustration, and I appreciate putting them in the video for the sake of capturing the singer’s/waiting fans’ feelings. However, they are words that are better felt but not said; feeling them is one thing, but saying them is an insensitive and unnecessary thing to do in any context. Every series has fans, no matter the fanbases’ respective sizes, and for the sake of something as trivial as a good joke, it’s better to not hurt anyone’s feelings than to weigh and decide on an acceptable amount of collateral damage.
That’s my only complaint. Other than that, the video was entertaining and showed an admirable amount of passion. Great job!
Fun goofy internet videos. SERIOUS BUSINESS.
Everyone chillax.
Damn son, y’all betta chill out or som’ ones shet is about to be slapped.
This was great and even made me smile. It doesn’t have to be the most well made thing ever to have an effect on you. I wish I was that dedicated.
@Tabby:
Welcome to the internet.
Man have I been there…
My eyes cried tears of blood.
but I actually watched it all because I was impressed by this fan’s passion.
ach, by mistake I put my friends name because I like to support them but this comment can misrepresent them. Is there way to replace? ^q^(drool
That was the greatest thing I’ve all year. Like, seriously funny and uplifting. Someone should sub this in japanese and send it to Inafune to thank him for continuing the series. The miser will never say he hates video games again.
While we’re on the subject, we need a similar tribute song for Marvel VS. Capcom 3, which is another Capcom sequel that has received intense fan demand for a decade.
