More Ruminating with Mega Man Legends
Yet another dose of Mega Man Legends rumors have appeared over at Protodude’s Rockman Corner. Of course, rumors are just rumors, but there’s a little twist here: the source this time is The Shadow, a name you may be familiar with. That is, the same The Shadow who previously leaked information on Mega Man 9 some time back (though for whatever reason was silent on Mega Man 10 and Mega Man Universe).
According to The Shadow, a Mega Man Legends game is indeed in the works, but those involved are being tight lipped about it. Additionally, the game has no working title yet, so it is not necessarily Mega Man Legends 3.
While I am of a very skeptical nature, I have to concede the good possibility that something is going on with all this. While the rumors have all been sketchy, there’s something still to be said of frequency. If an owl cries in the woods three times, you may never see it but you can still be pretty sure it was an owl. Frankly, we too have heard from “sources” months ago that a new Legends title was in the work. But as is common in these cases, there’s usually so little to go on to merit reporting. But it certainly may be more relevant now.
That all being said, this will probably be our last rumor post until something more substantial comes along.

I sent you a vid a while back and they probably changed the site when you guys checked it.
These two links prove that it may be more than a rumour. At the Megaman Universe section of the Comi-Con Convention (try saying that 3 times fast) they were pretty much discussing aspects of the game, trying to grasp the audiences attention from whatever Megaman Spin-off they started playing and got them into the series. (Does this mean Megaman Exe will be in the game as well since many claim to start with him? mm…)
Anyway in the 2nd link they feel bad about giving a small amount of info and hyping the US up for a game that is still releasing in Korea. To repay the favor they revealed that there is an “Oft requested Megaman game we have all been waiting for”
But then again it sounds like it could be either Legends 3 or X9, either way, I’m amped

If this was a mobile game, Inafune would not mention it on american presentation. Remember how when Universe was first revealed he said that there is another Rockman game in the works? There would be no point for him to discuss a mobile phone game like that. Hell, NONE of mobile phone games, including EXE and DASH spinoffs are listed on “Rockman History” page on Japanese (!) Capcom’s website. They are not that important to anything. And probably not that good.

this is curious… are they just making a game for the legends fanbase? or are they trying to gather new members into the legends fanbase?
if the latter, then it probably won’t be legends 3, at best a 1.5 or something, to establish the legends mythos to newbies. maybe even a prequel game.
I sure hope for a prequel, and on the PS3. please stop putting mega man games on the PSP, it’s not a fun handheld to play, especially when it comes to 3D adventure games!
If anything, they should make a Legends 1 remake instead of a Legends 3, for the sake of introducing new fans to the series.
That or make a game totally for fanservice’s sake, which is not really a good idea in this case.

I just hope they get good voice acting for this one!
If anything this is going to be a reboot, or a download title. I don’t see a retail release continuation of a game that ended on a cliffhanger a decade ago. Kind of is a bit discouraging to new consumers to get it on that.
It’s not like classic where every game is “Wily did ****, stop him!”.
I just hope that, IF it’s Legends 3, Ocean Group does the dubbing.

^Capcom teaming up with Level-5? Sounds like the perfect developer for Mega Man Legends if you ask me.
If it turns out to be Legends 3, they need to have a “Previously on MegaMan Legends” sequence so the new players can be brought up to speed.
Anyway, what I’d like to have is a combination of the MML1 and MML2 styles, meaning that there would be multiple islands like in MML2, but there would be a lot of stuff to do in those islands including a huge ruins system that spans underneath the entire city like in MML1.
That would be awesome.
(Something else that might be cool would be a flashback to MegaMan’s purifier years in playable or non-playable form.)
Wait, I just met Hino. Dang, this would have been the perfect opportunity to ask him about Dash 3 just to see the react or hesitation on his face. If only I could go back in time….I am mad now. Too busy following Kamiya around thinking he was going to be the new face of Rockman.

Capcom and Level 5 I only have have two level 5 games and they were the dark cloud series I wonder what could be going behind the works for that? I am intrigued about this yes.
@ManwholovesRockamusic what are you talking about? you always got money from kicking the can, and it was never going green, it was throwing a can behind the bakery counter. the game would then display a message saying you should put trash in the proper place, as in in the trash bins! (which you actually could not do)
also, not familiar with the events of legends 2, but according to what I’ve heard, walnut is trapped somewhere and is trapped there? never to return? I think “legends 3″ would be better as a prequel to 1, or as 1.5, that way it wouldn’t have to worry to much about getting people up to speed
Mega Man Legends 3 is what I want most.
Dammit! I still can’t find Legends 2 yet! T_T Wait just a little longer Capcom…or you can release a Megaman Legends Collection along with Legends 3. I mean if God of War can do it, certainly two little PS1 games can’t be any trouble.

I’m being sorta comedic ,but yes you can turn evil by doing that over and over again. And the reason I said green is because of the funny messege you got for kicking it into the bakery which is quite the opposite. The karma thing is just a fun tidbit from fallout 3 which has nothing to do with legends at all which is just another joke. That comment is my hallaluyeah to the hope of a legends 3.
He is trapped on Elysium because Gaatz tried to weaken or possibly kill off Sera (he died in the process of trying to hack her and he was the one who became the operating system for Trigger’s old shuttle pod) while she was in combat with Volnut / Trigger and then at the end of the credits Roll and Tron are trying to build a rocket to go to Elysium because Data came back with the schematics and have made mutiple tries apparently and to no avail the result is Roll and Tron arguing over who will build the best rocket to Get their beloved Trigger, Yuna in Roll’s mom’s body and Sera who is now in Yuna’s Body. Hope that helps a little with the fog.
So if they were able to get Data off from Elysium why the hell can’t they get the other three who are still stuck on Elysium playing some sort of card game or something. Thats the part that erked me the most and thats why I’m hoping for a progression ,but I do like the idea of a prequel because it sounded epic what Trigger was doing before he became known as Megaman Volnut.
There’s not much that I would want if they actually are making Legends 3. I would love for it to be quite the expansive game (like the one person said: multiple islands to explore and lots of ruins on each). I also would hope the Bonnes would be smart enough to not try to fight Mega Man again (let Glyde or someone else be target practice now, hehe…).
I’d think between Roll, Tron, and the Mother Units, Mega Man’s got a LOT of technological backup, so hopefully we’ll get some fun upgrades and weapons too. However, of course, I’d also love to see L1!Spread Buster, Machine Buster, Active Buster, Hyper Shell, and Crusher make a comeback alongside Vacuum Arm, Drill Arm, Shield Arm, Blade Arm, and Shining Laser (which you know will be in the game). Maybe some parts to make the Buster do more than just rapid fire (Mega Man Trigger pulling out a Charge Shot would probably be pretty epic, especially with maxed attack). Maybe just for a little…evening the playing field they can allow us to get the uber buster part (you all know the one) in a mode outside of Easy. Just gotta earn it (maybe something really tedious like the quiz for the Zetsabre (wanna bet that was supposed to be Z-Saber?) item in Legends 2 or along those lines)
Pardon the double-post, but I wouldn’t mind if they managed to get as much as the original Legends voice cast as possible (I don’t think Teisel would be the same otherwise), or at least decent sound-alikes. Beyond that, Ocean Group voices would be a pretty good idea. Brad Swaile (aka Quatre Winner, Light Yagami, Setsuna F Seiei, Lan Hikari, etc) sounds like a good fit for Mega Man. Kirby Morrow (aka Trowa Barton, Miroku, Elec Man.EXE, etc) might be a good alternate voice for Glyde…
Just got finished talking to some “special friends”. Expect something absolutely amazing by this December concerning Rockman.
