Behold “Megapin”
A couple days back, Capcom’s Rockman Unity promoter Ucchy-san teased that “something green” would be making a special appearance at the Mega Man Universe stage at Tokyo Game Show. Could it be Auto? Or maybe Tornado Man? Or Teisel Bonne!? All incorrect: it is Gachapin. And in a collaboration with MMU, a “Megapin” playable character is planned to be included in the game as a future DLC update.
I’m guessing to many of you who aren’t residents of Japan, this news is hardly thrilling to you. However, it does confirm two things. First it confirms that Capcom will indeed be expanding the game’s content with DLC (though I’d be surprised if anyone didn’t expect this). Second, it confirms that the scope of content in MMU is even greater than we could have imagined, not being relegated to just Capcom properties.
Additionally, you can see some pretty silly images from the stage event on Dengeki.

So, what should we expect as Westerners? Mickey Mouse? Spongebob? Bart Simpson? Nice to know the Universe will be huge and all, but what would be the equivalent to Gachapin here? This doesn’t excite me yet, Capcom.

Yea, I’m not really familiar with the character myself, but I can say that the pictures taken from the skit are pretty epic!
Also, the more customization & drawing part abilities, the better! I’ve been wanting to make several non-capcom characters playable in a megaman game!
Cool we’ll get to pay extra money for stuff we don’t want or need.

For those curious of who Gachapin is, he is from a Japanese kids show named Hirake! Ponkikki.
Actually, Gachapin isn’t only going to become part of the MM fandom, he is actually also becoming an official Vocaloid. So I suspect that there is some kind of celebration thing going on around the show.

- Gachapin is best known in America and Europe for his role in the “Read My Mind” music video by The Killers.
- Gachapin and Mukku are also the source of the internet meme DSFARGEG, in which a user on an imageboard would post a video or image with Mukku and be instantly banned.

This thing resembles Wall-E, in a bizarre way…
“MEGA BYE!” No Captain N Mega Man. For the best I suppose though. I remember watching that show when I was younger but after seeing the Nostalgia Critic review of it and hearing the “Green Bomber” say “Mega Hi!” in his scratchy and deformed little voice just made me shudder.

Most people who watch the NC and pretty much follow his lead are too young to remember Captain N. I like the show, but GReen Boogerman was enough for me.
