Kotobukiya Blues First Look (Updated)

Hot on the heels of seeing Roll’s true colors, here’s our first look at the prototype for Blues. This was presented at the Chara Hobby 2010 event in Japan. The poster notes that Blues will come with a detachable shield and three different face plates. As reported before, Blues is planned for release by the end of the year, probably in December. Price is unknown, but will likely be within the league of Rockman and Roll.

Update: According the the image after the break (which I didn’t look at closely enough), the Blues figure has actually been pushed back a little, and is planned to release sometime in early 2011.

Thanks Auto!

  1. One of those face plates should be the “Break Man” face plate.

  2. Heat Man says:

That’d be pretty cool, yeah. I also love the detail in the scarf. Amazing that can be on along with the shield.

  3. Burst says:

    Very nice. : )

  4. Kaiser says:

that looks pretty sweet, i wonder if they will ad an altered face for the false protoman.

  5. Ian Dimas says:

I’m actually glad it has been pushed to 2011. My wallet appreciates it =P

  6. Kmno says:

Awesome, at least the three brothers will be together and even if the line ends here (which I hardly doubt) it would be a small nice collection.

I’m pretty glad that Rockman finally gets the attention in merchandise it deserves. This figure is a must for every fan.

  7. PlaguedOne says:

    A thousand times want!

  8. Erico says:

blues has always been the most awesome of Light’s “Classic” robots to me…And even this prototype looks SMOKING.

Looks like I’ll have to bust open the piggy bank!

  9. Lumine1412 says:

Wonder if there will be a flute included, along with his helmetless hairstyle

  10. NO_NAME says:

4 will be Forte I would guess, assuming they sell well. What will 5 be?

  11. Lumine1412 says:

    @noname
May be they will move onto the X series

  12. NO_NAME says:

Well the figures are for Rockman 10, so if they keep up with the same line then Rightot is more likely than X and Zero for now. I would like a Rightot figure.
If they went into making the 10 bosses, I think Commandoman and Chillman would make nice figures. Nitroman could be cool, but it might be hard to make a good model out of him.

  13. Megafan100 says:

I wonder if we’ll ever get to see his eyes… *o* Gah! I’m doing it again! >_< Blues preview makes me happy!

  14. Duckaiser says:

Looks awesome. I really want all 3 of these…

  15. ZeroX_Syaoran says:

@NO_NAME: I imagine Dr. Light, and Dr. Wily before we move to the X series first.

  16. Blues says:

    Prototype Protoman.

Either way, I gasped for air when I saw this, definately going to need to get it.

And I may have missed it, but has anyone mentioned Bass for a possible next?

  17. NO_NAME says:

    @Blues
I believe that someone mentioned Forte for a possible next……….

  18. Blues says:

I see, now. Hmm. Excuse my forgetfulness/laziness to look it up, but what’s the expected/guesstimated price for these again?

  19. Haggis says:

Um is it just me or is his classic holding the shield pose holding it upside down?

@Blues well the sign in that picture says 3,150 yen which I believe is around $35

  20. Megafan100 says:

Actually, $30 or a little less. I’m getting it no matter what the cost! :D

  21. Glitcher says:

We still need to see these figures placed next to a common object to compare their size, because 1/10th scale Rockman figures sound awfully small for 3’000 yen.

  22. NO_NAME says:

    @ Haggis & Megafan100
3150 yen is currently roughly $37 USD. The yen is currently worth more than than North American currencies.

    @ Haggis & Glitcher
Also, for a figure like that 30~40 dollars is relatively cheap. If you don’t often buy things like this you mgiht not know, but it’s much cheaper than one would normally expect.

    @ Haggis
As for the shield, he bends his elbow when he wants to use it. That is how police and such would hold riot shields as well. If he held it with his hand turned the other way, he would have to hold it out without a bent elbow which would make the shield feel a lot heavier.

    @Glitcher
Original Rockman is 132 cm, and Roll and Blues are approximately the same height. The figures have been said to all be about 13cm, so we know exactly how big these figures are without objects placed beside them.

  23. Megafan100 says:

Oh! So the value of the yen DID go up after all! Or is it the value of the U.S. dollar that went down?! O.o Ooh! Bad economy confuses me! >.<

  24. NO_NAME says:

I think both the USD went down and the JPY went up. And it is good economy for me.

  25. Masterge77 says:

I love how you italicized the “proto” in “prototype”, yeah, we all get the joke…..

  26. HARDMAN says:

Awesome Now all we need is a badass Bass figure!!
