Mega Man 10 Arrives on 10box 360 Arcade Today

…because “X” always equals “10,” right? Right? No? Alright, moving on, then.

At long last, all are one as the final North American release of Mega Man 10 has dawned, arriving on Microsoft’s Xbox 360 today for 800 Microsoft Points (which is still about ten bucks). Capcom offers up the following words, via Major Nelson:

(ONLINE INTERACTIONS NOT RATED BY THE ESRB) Thanks to the support of all the fans, we at Capcom are proud to announce the release of Mega Man 10! Now fans of all ages can enjoy the newest entry into this historic 8-bit franchise. As a special service to new players, we added an Easy Mode – a first for a classic Mega Man game! We also have some special treats in store for all the fans. This time you can play as Proto Man and try out Time Attack Mode from the beginning. You can also watch play-through videos from players all over the world. There are no refunds for this item. For more information, see www.xbox.com/live/accounts.

And of course, those who have been waiting for this release have relatively less time to wait before Capcom’s other new content begins to show up on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

If you’re reading this and have been waiting for this moment, be sure to come back here later and tell us what you think of the Blue Bomber’s latest. And don’t forget: you have an excuse for playing Easy Mode, thanks to the Xbox 360′s rather questionable D-pad. Thanks to that, no one would hold it against you.

That’s why you don’t use the D-pad. It’s in an awkward spot anyway. Mega Man 9 worked just fine with the joystick, and I can’t imagine 10 would handle it any differently.

  2. JinzoX says:

    I agree with tim

  3. MaverickHunterAsh says:

The D-pad is awful, but not terrible for Mega Man 9 or 10 because Mega Man can’t slide in them, thus no accidental sliding deaths due to the D-pad registering “down” when you didn’t want it to.

Of course, playing as Proto Man and Bass will be a different story.

  4. LaZodiac says:

I don’t care if the D Pad is “not terrible” because then its still BAD. You should not willingly use that D Pad for anything.

Seriously, the one thing I’d actually be ok with them ripping the design from Nintendo off of would be the D Pad. Not saying they ripped any designs off in the first place, but still.

  5. FinCooper says:

I LOVE it! Allready did it on Easy as Megaman and Protoman.

  6. Red says:

Just got it. Old Mega Man fun except now 90% of the enemies have spikes on them. God darn Nitro Man stage.

  7. Crazee says:

Fun game, but…the bosses are even more unbalanced than usual in difficulty. Only two bosses are remotely hard, but they are ANNOYING. I hate Blade Man, because when I shoot the Commando Bomb…and then try to avoid his attack…the commando Bomb changes direction. :/

  8. XD375 says:

Haha, are you guys having another giveaway like you did with the PSN version?

  9. viper says:

Its an ok game. after fully playing at a friends house I simply refuse to buy this game even as a fan of the series. nothing has change and just feels like deja vu all over again.
And it just looks like another numbers game for capcoms team of crack accountants to make money off :(

  10. MaverickHunterAsh says:

Wow. Capcom definitely isn’t perfect, but people like viper up there really prove that Capcom just can’t win no matter what they do. Someone will always complain or say what they do isn’t good enough.

I’m surprised they still even try, what with all the bitching and moaning we do no matter WHAT they give us.

  11. PStart says:

And I will be glad to provide them even more money if they keep releasing sequels of this quality.

lol… it’s kinda funny to be reading remarks like this, as someone who’s been playing the game since the 1st.

Get better and you’ll find that BladeMan is not only the easiest boss in the game to beat without damage, but the easiest to manipulate as well. Making kneejerk comments like that will only get you “lolno” responses from others who have more experience.

  13. Crazee says:

Hey, I got Mr.Perfect on MM9. I think Blade Man just goes against the way I like to fight battles…I love jumping around as I fire and that is not a good tactic with Commando Bomb. You have to…be patient. I actually found the boss easier with the Mega Buster.

But seriously, how can ANYTHING be easier than Strike Man?

  14. Crazee says:

And I don’t see why I should care what other people say about what bosses I like fighting… sometimes difficulty is relative. Everyone plays differently, and a lot of it has to do with your play style. Like, a lot of people find Plug Man hard but I don’t.

  15. MaverickHunterAsh says:

    Crazee -

Haha, that’s funny. Proving your point, Strike Man is for some reason the hardest boss for me to fight with just the Mega Buster (Nitro Man’s right behind him). This is coming from someone who got Invincible on Mega Man 9, too. Guess it does have to do with your play style.

To me, Blade Man’s not too bad. Sheep Man and Pump Man are the easiest in my opinion.

  16. Doctor Andy says:

    @Crazee
Don’t mind Playswithsquirrels, one gets good at a Megaman game likes this by dying over and over and over again, I know that’s how I learned to perfect Wily Machine 10. ;D

  17. Playswithsquirrels says:

All I’m saying is that you’re making those remarks too hastily. StrikeMan IS very easy to beat, but you claim BladeMan is a pain in the ass when he’s the closest thing this game has to a joke boss with the buster alone.

As for the “I love to be jumping around when I fire” I don’t see why you’d feel compelled to do that when you know it only gets you hit.

Regardless, when using the CB on BladeMan you can simply walk out of range of his attacks and just let the bombs hit the wall or ceiling next to him. As I said before, when you get better this stuff will just be second nature.

  18. Rafael C.- says:

I been playing MM10 on PS3, but without topics to talk about my thoughs on the game, I’ll talk here.

    SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

As many have said, BladeMan is still a PITA for me.
The most funny fight is Chill Man, nor easy nor hard, just fun.
The game is easier than MM10, no more spike traps you can’t see (Splash Woman, etc.).
The use of new mechanics is interesting, after beating the game, I feel like it was inspired by MM4, as MM9 was in MM2.
The Wily’s Archive was a nice fan service, and I can’t remember the weakness of NapalmMan.
In the archive battles, I really missed the Slide & Charge playing as Rock.

I’m waiting for the Special Stages and Bass, I think they will be integrated in the main game.
    -extended intro, featuring Bass.
-The spaceships in the US illustration could have some meaning.
-The same for the japanese title: “The Menace from Outer Space!!”.
