Mob Robos Revealed: Get Your Magnifying Glasses Ready
You may remember, some months ago, Hitoshi Ariga held a “Mob Robo” contest for his upcoming comic Rockman Gigamix Vol. 2. Basically, Ariga accepted entries for throwaway characters created by fans, who would appear briefly in the comic and then get destroyed. Truth be told I kind of forgot about the contest, even after Gigamix 2 released in Japan a couple weeks ago. I was only reminded when my close friend AWD! giddily harassed me with the knowledge that one of his characters, Volt Man, got featured in the comic (pictured above).
Seeing the pages for myself, it appears Ariga did what he could to cram as many entries as possible into the pages. There are quite a few, and I’ve already found characters created by a couple other friends of mine. So if you entered a design, there may be good odds yours made it too. And that’s what I’m here to let you check. Below are the pages that contain all the Mob Robo ideas Ariga accepted. Be warned that they open up to HUGE images. Then you just need to get to browsing, and hopefully you’ll see your character!
Additionally, some original entries were also printed inside the book’s back cover, so I’ll share that as well.
Now the next thing you need to do is beg Capcom and UDON to get Rockman Gigamix published here in North America!

@PStart: Be sure to look carefully. I didn’t see one of my friends’ designs until I noticed Terra’s foot was covering his head.
I dont know whats crazier. me recognizing some of them from other sorces, or me knowing their names of the ones I do?

Lobster Man and Vice Man are actually pretty sweet, leaning more towards Vice Man…his head reminds me of Magnet Man. Ariga’s rendition of Terra actually makes me care about Stardroids now too…jeez he’s got talent.
How long ago was this contest held, as I vaguely remember it.

Aww, dangit. I just got my copy last night, have spent all this time trying to identify and list all of them for everybody, and now my thunder has been stolen. :/ Bad enough I’m depressed mine didn’t make the cut. LOL
I’ll still post my incomplete ID collection on the forums in the Media/Merchandise section and try to link to the originals.
Ah well, at least I can help a little here. AWD! didn’t give you pages 136-137, which also have more entries on there. Most are tiny or partially blown up, but still enough on there that it’s worth posting. I’m still trying to scour the whole thing to make sure others didn’t get thrown in on random pages, rather than just these 6 pages.

I’ve submitted over 10 robots for this manga, and what do you know? 5-6 of my bots were chosen!!! YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Can’t believe such happiest moment gonna happen! The chosen ones were Mantis Man, Ghost Man, Cannon Man, Storm Man, Wing Man, and Tact Man. Yup, and its still in the source in Japanese, and some are actually hiding behind other bots and Terra’s leg, but man…this is the most happiest thing I’ve ever had…*sniff*

As awesome as this is, I can’t help but be dissapointed at the lack of female RMs. I see one, and she’s basically an alternate Splash Woman.
Besides that though, this is awesome!
Wow, Volt Man is amazing! I wish he had made it into an official game!
I see a few other designs that I like a lot. Hopefully Capcom takes notice of what the fans like.

Really neat idea, but to me it just seems too morbid. Designing a character for the sole purpose of being filler that gets destroyed after 1 page. It’s why I didn’t even try. Of course, something tells me I wouldn’t have made it even if I did. There’s a lot of cool designs too…it’s kind of sad really.
Dang it, he liked the fat, beefy Lobsterman better than my skinny Zero-esque Lobsterman!!!! Unless I’m not looking hard enough…

Aw, my Echo Woman didn’t make it (could be because she was designed with a Cossak ‘C’ on her belt). Oh well.
My coil man made it on the back spread, but I don’t think any of my others maid the cut.
