New Free Fan-Made Mega Man Remix Album (UPDATE)
UPDATE: Because of the bandwidth issues ilp0 was having from so many people trying to download the album, we’ve hosted it in our music archive (with permission). It can be found in its entirety here.
Well, here’s a pleasant little surprise. While I was checking out the updates for OverClocked ReMix’s 10th anniversary, I made an interesting discovery. One of the ten remixes posted in honor of the occasion was none other than a Cut Man remix by OCR veteran, ilp0, entitled “Cutman’s Lullaby“.
While a lone remix from a Mega Man game isn’t exactly news, what was far more interesting is what I found next. As it turns out, “Cutman’s Lullaby” is actually part of a bigger project: an arrange album of the entire soundtrack to the first Mega Man game.
The album is finished and available for free download right now. The arrangements, while not particularly high energy for the most part, are pretty unique. ilp0′s work is very polished and some of the tracks even flow into each other. The style of it actually has a bit of an Alph Lyla (or one of its many other spellings) vibe to it.
So what are you waiting for? Head on over to the album’s site and grab it!

I listened to the Fire Man Stage remix, and I liked what I heard. But now there’s a “Bandwidth Limit Exceeded” message, I can’t download anything else! Argh!
TMMN, you and your vicious power. You killed the site.
Sweet, this looks good!!
Lol! Yay the linkie works!!
These are freaking awesome remixes.
Dag nabbit. It’s still dead for me.
Hows the megaman 9 remix projet doing?
Hows the megaman 9 remix projet doing?
@Harpu
It got delayed because one of the artists had a hard drive crash. I don’t know what the planned release date is now, but this was the last bit of news concerning it:

That’s awesome I love the cover artwork.
If anyone is interested I did my
own Megaman cover album earlier
this year it has 23 tracks

I wonder if anyone would mind uploading a mirror for the album since the bandwidth is long gone.
it’s now mirrored (with permission) here: http://www.themmnetwork.com/wiki/index.php?title=Mega_Man_Remix_Album_by_ilp0
@ mainfinger: How goes your guys remix project?
@8BitBurst
Which one? The TMMN Battle Network one or the OCR MM9 one? MM9 got delayed and Battle Network is still on track for sometime mid next year.
Meh, I don’t particularly like it. Slow medleys don’t particularly suit Mega Man’s high-octane chiptunes. Cut Man’s Lullaby is the worst. It’s so depressing and downbeat that I wouldn’t have known it’s a Mega Man stage music if you haven’t told me. It kind of defeats the whole purpose of a remix if you can’t recognise the original music, and as a stand-alone track, the synthesizer instruments are too tinny to do the lullaby any justice. Disappointing stuff.
- Yes, not good stuff. Perhaps the only good track is that Ice Man theme. Never change the melody abruptly! It sucks! We’re expecting A and get B without notice, it’s terrible. Plus, never “transform” a fast beat melody into a turtle depressed style melody, as with that Cut Man theme.
Hey, if you want hear the original tracks, go listen to the original tracks. That’s not what ilp0 was going for.

- You didn’t get the idea. It’s just not so good in my opinion, whatever. There are plenty of MM remixes – I just love them. Sorry for the negative “impact”.
