Rockman EXE mobile games re-releasing, delicious character artwork

capcom18Perhaps in honor of Operate Shooting Star, Capcom is re-releasing its two mobile phone Rockman EXE titles today on its iMode site “Capcom Party,” according to GAME Watch. These games include Rockman EXE Phantom of Network, and Rockman EXE Legend of Network. With both games only released in Japan, Phantom of Network deals with a mysterious Net Navi known as Cache who is reviving cache copies of defeated Navis for his own evil purposes, while Legend of Network has Netto teaming up with an Ameroupian official named Sherrice, who battle to stop a doomsday device created by an ancient advanced civilization. Both games will go for ¥525 (roughly $5.80 US).

What’s more, though, this GAME Watch report is actually perhaps the first real good look we’ve gotten at the exclusive characters from both games; especially Sherrice and RideMan, since Legend of Network came out after Capcom published their various Rockman EXE art and guide books. So, this is quite a fantastic find for us who don’t have the opportunity to play these games! I now hope for an EXE Official Complete Works more than ever.

    HatMan you crazy dude

    That thing’s called Cache? Scaryyyy

  2. PlaguedOne says:

    They should translate these and put them out on DSi shop or something.

  3. Keso_R says:

    That would be most intesting, PlaguedOne. They will hopefully think it over in consideation before too long. I’d love to see more EXE!

  4. Kupo Samurai says:

    How dare they make a Cowboy Navi and only put him in a mobile phone game…Well, it’s mainly a problem because they haven’t translated these games.

  5. RegalX7 says:

    Yeah, the first time I saw Cache was Beast +. I could never find anything from these games.

  6. Chris says:

    @Kupo Samurai

    LOL, I really wanna see a fight between the cowboy navi and Tomahawkman.EXE.
    :P

  7. RegalX7 says:

    Haha, didn’t notice the tag “fangasm” at first.

  8. Rock-X says:

    I’m really liking the artwork. Nice to see something like this from these two games. Here’s my 2 cents:
    Rideman looks pretty cool, acutally. If it were possible I’d like to go one-on-one with him. Heck, I wouldn’t mind seeing him make an appearance in the Classic series.
    Cache, I’m assuming the one on the far left, is making me think of Lumine for some reason. Perhaps its their similarities to their abilities thats making me think that. I don’t know.
    Hatman: Wow, he’s looking more like Classic series Magic Man than Magicman did, don’t you think?
    Sherrice, assuming its the girl, is rather interesting. Was this game made before Starforce came out? If it was, then I can see the resemblence between her and Luna.

  9. Chris says:

    @Rock-X

    Yeah I agree with pretty much all of those comparisons, especially the Cache/Lumine comparison.

    Hatman really does look like a cross between classic series Magic Man and Dark Phantom from Starforce 2.

  10. Alilatias says:

    @ RegalX7: There’s footage of Legend of Network over at NicoNico, but there’s only about four videos (all of which are fights against the new Navis + the final boss).

    I think three of them have made their way to YouTube (all of which are about the new Navis, final boss video not included).

  11. RegalX7 says:

    I haven’t been checking Youtube for much other than certain things, recently. Depending on how old the videos are, I probably should’ve checked there before. But thank you.

  12. Emuji says:

    OMG! I love Cache’s design O.O…………….

    And all of them!!! >_<

    I want more EXE!!! I miss those sagas T___T

  13. Seve says:

    It really is a shame that these Navis (and Ring and Turboman from Battle Chip Challenge) will probably never get to see screentime in a proper Battle Network game, because they all look AWESOME. If Capcom decides to pick up the Battle Network series again on DS, putting these guys in is a definite must, if you ask me. (… Zero.EXE too, come to think of it.)

    Though isn’t there one more character, Jammingman I believe he’s called, that was in these games too? I remember reading about him being a bug Navi or something.

  14. Rock Miyabi says:

    @Seve:
    Yes, Jammingman was in Phantom of Network, as well as getting a little on-screen action in Beast+.

    Here’s his concept from EXE no Himitsu if you were curious. Not snazzy brand new official art, but it’s something: http://img127.imageshack.us/img127/5793/h154et5.jpg

  15. Alilatias says:

    So little is known about those two games in general. I really hope the re-releasing will at least result in some new videos popping up on NicoNico and YouTube.

    …But chances are everyone’s setting up their recorders for EXE OSS instead, which I guess is perfectly fine.

  16. mega rock.exe says:

    Those sprites needed to be ripped since the first release. I want them!!

  17. TennyWenny says:

    hmm. i like the gun guy’s design. also that white person who looks a BIT like Bass. Without his cape of course. but the other two i’m not so hot about…

  18. Andy says:

    I hope they have better pictures of the Trojan horse.

  19. Chris says:

    @ Seve

    I totally agree. There were actually quite a few navis who didn’t get nearly enough appearances in the battle network series when they really should have (instead of including re-appearances of already used characters so much eg- Fireman.exe, Elecman.exe, Tomahawkman.exe, etc.) I didn’t really mind seeing these characters a second time (and their double soul forms on Megaman.exe were really cool) but it did cause some other navis to really fade from memory. I would love to see characters such as Turboman.exe, Ring.exe, Gravityman.exe, and Needleman.exe make appearances in a new game. I also (I know I have stated this before in another thread but…) would really like to have seen some of the forgotten and unused robot master names used in a new BN game. Specifically: Crashman.exe, Geminiman.exe, and Pirateman.exe.

  20. hsbinh1412 says:

    damn it, Japan got all the good stuff X<

  21. Seve says:

    Actually, I’d like to re-comment. It’s really cool that these games take concepts like cache and viruses (the final boss in one of these games is a Trojan Horse I believe) from the real internet and make them into a game. So how about, instead of rereleasing these phone games, make them both into a brand new, internet themed Battle Network game for the DS. Include everything that was in both of them, add some more content and Navis for Megaman to both battle against and form Crosses with, maybe a super virus or something Megaman pulls in for a new “Beast Out” mode, all of the good stuff. It’s not only possible, with OSS on the horizon AND these games being rereleased in their original forms, I bet fans would eat it up. I know I would.

    @Rock Miyabi
    … WOW. Wasn’t expecting that when I heard bug Navi. Talk about dangerous looking. Awesome, thanks for showing that.

  22. RegalX7 says:

    I prefer the Jammingman with Mayl’s head.

  23. Chris says:

    @Seve

    YES! Definetly….

  24. Gaia says:

    Wow, never expected Cache to resurface, and he does resemble a white Rockman, so he kinda looks like the Copy Robot from MM1.

  25. Ed says:

    Hey:

    Is Heatman exe, Mr. Match, or Protoman Present in Rockman Legend of Network.

    Is too bad it was not released in English.

  26. Ed says:

    I’m sorry, in my last resquest i try to ask, “if Heatman or Protoman are present?”, but i forgot to write “?”
