Operate Shooting Star battle screen, minigame revealed

Japanese online shop Rakuten has a pre-order page for Rockman EXE: Operate Shooting Star that shows what Capcom has been trying to hide so far: the battle system. One sole screen shows a battle window that looks virtually identical to the one from the original MegaMan Battle Network. The only noticeable difference is that the custom window only has two lines instead of three, which show the letter code for each chip – basically how the chip system worked from Battle Network 2 and on. This makes me also wonder if OSS will have * chip codes.
Additionally, they’ve also announced a minigame included in OSS called the Rockman Star Colosseum, or “RockColo.” While lacking in details, it mentions the game consists of versus battling, and up to six players can play wirelessly with just one cartridge, which sounds similar to Star Force 2’s Sky High Colosseum.
With this leak of the battle picture, I expect a full reveal of the battle system from Capcom pretty soon.

Ohhhh snap! At the very least, BN battling is here! Love how they cover up who’s battling ;_;
I hope the single-card multiplayer minigame is awesome. Seeing multiplayer in a MegaMan game’s rare enough, but single-card play? That’s rocking.
PStart: Take a closer look at the Custom Screen. You can clearly see .EXE’s symbol in the corner.
…Hmm…alright, I have a few thoughts on this. First of all, it appears that the map is on the touch screen even in battle? I was hoping that Capcom would integrate it more with SSRockman added in.
…Unless that all changes once he shows up, at least.
Secondly, does anyone know if the text in that Numberman Scenario image was in the original, as well?
Pretty awesoem news, I always did like the old battle network battle system compared to the starforce battle system
I wonder if the Program Advances will get upgraded now. I’m pretty sure I speak for many when I say, get the hell out Betasword and give us Lifesword.
Of Course, its a battle network battle system on the screen. Like Forci said, its Megaman.EXE’s icon on the custom screen, so its only natural his battle system is that way. Hopefully they integrate the SF battle system too, cuz having BN battle system now alone after playing thru SF’s battle system can be abit slow-paced, unless of course not for those whu skipped the SF series.
This is sick.
Mmmhhh… Maybe the battle system is going to be diferent to Geo and Mega Man.exe, but i can be in an error.
I hope Capcom surprises us and make a game we could cal a masterpiece, or at least a cool game =P
And no 8-bit masterpiece either
I don’t know how to feel about this news, like everything else I learn about the game. The fact that it looks exactly the same disappoints me very much. I suppose I really will have to wait for the release to see if everything is okay.
Eh… Hm… good to see the ADD system is back.
But again, they’re not even gonna update the sprites at all it seems… well, at least this game got my interest again since it’s the return of BN battling… phew.
Hey! It’s the EXE system! And they’re updating it, from the looks of it! I figured that the battle system was originally just going to be a straight port.
*stabs the Escape chip*
Aww chips. *CRUNCH* Codes all over again…
Oh hell….I hated the codes system. It made my folders beyond broken (as in hard to function with).
I’m thrilled to see the EXE battle system. I like it a whole lot more than Starforce’s system.
aw man, but its easier to make combos with the MMSF battle system :C
Chip codes!? Awwwwww maaan! I was afraid of that! -_-
