Caught this one over on GoNintendo. These songs are more than 20 years apart, but they may have more in common than you think. Give ‘em a listen and see for yourself.
Of course, there are a few well known cases of Mega Man music sounding like other music from the mainstream. I listed this and a few others over in a post on Mega Man Maniacs for your perusal. Perhaps you know of other songs that share similarities to Mega Man? Share ‘em (legally).

Yeah, I know of one. The main riff from the Ashes Divide song, “The Stone” (@ 0:24) sounds JUST like MMX3′s Crush Crawfish stage theme where the music initially picks up intensity (@ 0:37).

I think the last Wily stage from Mega Man: Dr. Wily’s Revenge sounds a little similar to Invisible Touch by Genesis

oh I remember the same MMX3 correspondence and thought I was trippin’, it seems like they’re everywhere…
I’m sorry, but I do not hear the similarity. Just because a song has a few similar notes doesn’t mean it was based on another song.
Although I did thought that Flash Man’s theme, and Metallica’s song “Seek and Destroy” were almost similar to each other. But you’d really have to pay attention to it to actually hear the similarities.

The Neon Tiger deal is because one of the producers of the X series is a HUEG fan of Guns N’ Roses. This is why you see all the names in X5
