Famitsu: Rockman DASH/X among sequels Japanese want most

The latest issue of Famitsu contained a reader survey of which game series people want most. And wouldn’t you know it, of the fifty games included in the list, both Rockman DASH and Rockman X landed on the list. In fact, they placed fairly high, with Rockman DASH coming in 7th and Rockman X coming in 13th. DASH I can see pretty well, but X does surprise me slightly (I’d sooner have expected EXE or the like). Nevertheless, great to hear that enthusiasm for Rockman is still pretty strong in Japan.
I’m telling you people, it can only be so long that Capcom can ignore the cries for Legends.

Legends is number seven? Maybe there hope for number three yet.
I want a new X game over Legends, but just any Mega Man love would be appreciated.

Personally I’d rather have a new Legends. I love X, but I think the glory days of it are long gone at this point. Legends only got 2 games and I enjoyed the hell out of both. The X series started off amazing but got really mediocre halfway through IMO.

Also, I’m glad to see that those crimes against MM (EXE and SS) are not present on the list. May they be forgotten forever. Amen.
I was surprised to see Gotcha Force so high on the list, getting even more votes than Legends!
I’d love a Legends sequel, but Gotcha Force reaaaaallllyyy deserves another chance!
BN and SF are not crimes against MegaMan. It was the combined effort of BN and Zero that pulled MegaMan back. And because of them, I’m here.

Get out. SF I’d probably agree with, but EXE? Heck no. I doubt MM9 would have been possible without EXE.
Anyways, I think the reason why EXE’s not on the list is because it officially concluded. Note how series in which sequels are just about guaranteed are not present (Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy, especially Dragon Quest), and I don’t recognize any series on that list that ‘officially ended’.
I agree. People seem to forget that Battle Network near single handedly kept the Megaman franchise from going completely under. Sure Capcom did what they do best (milking a series dry) with it, but it cannot be denied that BN, BN2 and the early Zero games saved Megaman and has allowed Capcom to make later titles like X8, Megaman 9 and quite possibly a Legends 3.
What’s so surprising about the X series? It’s an awesome series!
I would love to see Irregular Hunter X from 1 to 4 and the n to continue the franchise in a new direction ( no eurasia crash, no nightmare and no red alert) just continue with X and ZERO adventues in the 21XX
@ Tayo> Surprising in the sense that Japanese tend to prefer RPGs and such. I may be mistaken but I think Rockman X is the only platformer on all of that list. ‘Course, maybe it’s another Command Mission they want.
I know that while X5 and X6 weren’t my favourite games (the older ones were better), they were better than X7 and X8 by far. I find it hard to imagine a worse X game than 7 and 8 as far as “fun factor” was concerned, especially X8 final level/boss.
That said, I’d love to see another Command Mission.
Anyways, on the topic of Dash.. Gods I wanna see a Legends 3 SO bad, but I’m worried like crazy that they’ll screw it up like the did the later EXE and X games. I say later, because I loved BN 1 and 2, before it became a “Pokemon” thing with multiple versions. Not to mention that while I love the look of MM9, it is by far not the funnest game of the original series I’ve ever played… far from it.
I sure do wanna see how DASH’s story would continue though..
I am just glad that Breath of Fire is on the list with Legends and X. I am probably one of the few that appreciated every Mega man game and franchise. Oh well.
you know… i’m really surprised that Legends/DASH is that high up in this poll. It makes me glad and gives me hope.
I don’t know why X8 is so hated, of course levels was a bit frustrating but it was enyojable, X7 was only uberbad X game, Capcom hear your fans and give us Legends 3 and X9 (Both on PC also, you have fans on computers too, it’s pissing me off that most of their games are console only :/ )
I don’t understand why everyone goes against X8. Of course they got rid of Sigma, but to be honest he is still really in the picture. Ever wonder why Inafune still hasn’t set another stage on the moon after all that? I’ll give you guys a minute…

As far as x8… I really liked that there were lots of secrets in the levels and unlockables and I enjoyed the way Axl’s arsenal was handled even though I don’t like him as a character, but the levels themselves as well as the controls just felt shoddy in comparison to earlier titles.
Oh, THANK GOD the Japanese are actually piping up. I mean, it’s common knowledge that Crapcom doesn’t give two flying turds about what we Americans think. But now that the word is out on the other side of the world, maybe fans will get what they’ve been asking for for years now. Yippee.

I think a MMBN MMORPG would be kinda cool.
if they execute it right, then MMBN MMORPG will be good (although please no more S-Ranking for battle chips and Cheap (you know 1 hit k.o.) Battle Chips please. It would be a badass idea to create your own Netnavi and raise it’s stats (or even create it’s own battle styles, yes i liked battle styles from BN2, they we’re cool), also for Legend, they need to make good controls this time (in first 2 games for me this was horrible, although games we’re decent, i don’t know why so many fans likes it but still, more MM games more Mega Time to spend xD and if they do it right then maybe i will like Legends 3 more than first two xD)
