2694075354_55b6ae74e7Just when you thought Capcom couldn’t be releasing more games this year, they go and tell Joystiq they’re aiming for another 20 to 40 PSOne and PSP games to be released in the next few months.

With that large a number, there’s bound to be at least one Mega Man game in there.  Here’s hoping they show MegaMan Legends some love, as well as Mega Man X and Mega Man 8 on the PSOne side.  I’m rooting for Mega Man Powered Up and Maverick Hunter X on the PSP side (and Monster Hunter Freedom, editor’s discretion).

According to a post on Capcom Unity, expect the first batch of PSOne games to arrive in late May.

This plus the other article about Famistu readers wanting a DASH sequel could be what’s needed for Legends to get another game. Mind you, that’s if the three Legends games appear on PSN, people actually get them AND they do well.

This should be slightly interesting. . .

if this is what i’m thinking it is, meaning playing psp games on a ps3, then ULTIMATE WIN! MMPU and MHX please!!! never had the chance to play those, and they look awesome. i mean, vile in X1, and custom stages and playable bosses in mm1? yes! lol, my ps3 would probably be filled with downloadable stages. ah well, there’s always the option of upgrading to a 500 gb hd…

as for the X series and MM8, easy fix. mega man aniversary collection, and mega man x collection. n.u.f.f. s.a.i.d.

    @browsersenemy

i don’t think thats what it means. Its becoming increasingly common to have PSP games for download to transfer to the psp itself. They can be downloaded through both the ps3 and psp, but you can’t actually play them on the ps3.

oh god, if they re-release IHX and RPU in PSN then more people will know about those wonderful games, who knows then capcom may reconsider re-starting the IHX2 and RPU2 proyects

I remember reading that the soundtrack for Maverick Hunter X2 was already done before the game got canned. I’d love to hear it. I enjoyed the Maverick Hunter X soundtrack quite a bit. I did not, however, like what they did with the Mega Man Powered Up soundtrack (with a few exceptions). They changed a lot of the notes to sound super happy go lucky, effectively ruining a lot of the classic tunes IMO. Great game though. I just hope if they ever did do a Powered Up sequel that they don’t screw up the music of Mega Man 2.

I’m pretty sure the soundtrack we got with Maverick Hunter X (and its defunct would-be series) was made for the Mega Man X Collection. All of the remixed music for the series up to at least X3 should already exist.

  8. mainfinger says:

oh THAT must have been it. Yeah now that you mention it, I remember they were originally going to put the remixed soundtrack in for at least x1 but it was pulled out to increase sales of the remake. Man, I’d love to hear x3 even more than x2! But I’m glad we got x1’s remixed ost, because x1 has one of my favorite soundtracks of all time.

  9. Rock-X says:

well speaking of Maverick Hunter X sequel, I was gonna post a question about a what if for the forum before the change in address, so I might as well ask here. The question is this: Assuming that a sequel for MHX was in the works and based on what we know on the 1st, what do you suppose the extras would have been. For example, my thoughts are if they were much like the 1st, it would have some changes in the gameplay from the SNES original. The extras would possibly be the same: an alternate character to unlock and play through and an anime OVA (specifically the alt. character being a repaired but amnesiac Zero, while the OVA would focus on X as he grows into his role as leader of the Maverick Hunters). Anyone care to share, please?

Is it me or Capcom seems pretty popular as of lately. Whatever theyre on (Super Red Bull :P ) i’ll take two. I like this new Capcom aproach ^_^
    Keep it up CAPCOM!

  11. PhantomCobra says:

As long as this leads to MHX2, MM2:PU, or MML3 on PSP, I’ll be happy. (Heck, I’ll be happy if they release MML 1&2 in the US for PSP)

  12. BurningTyphoon says:

I will buy MML1 no problem since I have the original disc. However, I dunno about MML2. It was stolen. I’d prefer to have my games in hard copy in one form or another, it doesn’t matter if the version i have is completely different from the PSN version. I do make exceptions sometimes, but, it’s rare. Every full game I have on my HDD, I’ve either got the game on Genesis, PS2, or PSP. I’ll get MMX5 and X6 no problem.. guess what happened to X4… yup.

I might not get MM8, because whenever I do play that game, it’s always in my ps3 anyway. I might get it for support, but, I don’t want to have to beat games like X6 again.. I’d rescued all the helpless reploids on the hardest level.. and what a pain that was.

Oh dear god be Megaman Legends 1 or 2!
