X9 announced a day early
It appears the Mega Man revivals won’t end. I just got this hot tip from MMN viewer Heal Berry about Mega Man X9, and after being unable to validate it from any gaming news website, blog or BBS, I have to admit, I’m pretty convinced! I mean, it’s not like it’s April Fools day or anything. That’s tomorrow!
According to generous tipster Heal Berry, the full title is Mega Man X9: Reploid Extinction, as Berry says it’s “Repliroid no Shimetsu or something” in Japanese. All that’s known about the story thus far is that it takes place after X8, and the heroic trio must investigate the source of new copy chips turning up after Lumine’s demise.
There will also be an in-game database, which will present information and pictures concerning the game’s contents, as well as an online leaderboard. Nothing too outrageous or anything. I mean, if this were a soccer game or maybe Axl Teaches Typing, I might be a little suspicious.
Don’t just accept my blind trust though, just check out the images below. The game not only exists, but is returning to its 16-bit roots!
Pretty incredible. The spriter, err, the game developers look like they’re doing a fantastic job. No release date has been given yet, but the title is set for the PS3, 360 and Wii, which is curious, since this is apparently from a Japanese source, and Rockman 9 only released on the Wii in Japan.
Let’s just ignore logic, though. Mega Man X9 is on its way! Please be sure to give Heal Berry your thanks for this amazing scoop.
MUST-READ UPDATE: Yes, this is a joke. It is not even OUR joke. It was sent in by someone hoping to get us to report fake news. I admired the effort, so I posted it with this tongue in cheek write-up. It was not my intention to fool anyone, but if you anxiously clicked the link and went to the pics without reading, that’s your deal. Sorry to disappoint, but there’s nothing wrong with having a little humility.

I know this is kinda late, but will post it anyways.
I think that, True, Mega Man X9 should be in the highest graphics possible, on disk, and should be really epic, but should also be just like the old 16 bit games. I really loved the story telling that was really told them and how it all came together, one right after the other, but for some reason, I don’t know, the Playstation games just didn’t feel all that together, except for the cool Wily Images and everything, which they, unfortunately, Capcom seemed to have totally forgot about when they decided to make X7 and X8. When 7 and 8 came about everything that seemed to have happened within 1-6, was apparently nonexistant, which kinda killed a lot of meaning for those last two games. True, I loved 7 and 8 to death, but does updated graphics justify getting amnesia over what took place in the others, and don’t get me started on Zero being put into a 100 year sleep, and then automatically being placed in the beginning of X7 like X6 never even took place, or the Zero series years later. If going back to 16 bit fixes this, then I’m all for it, even though I think the way to stay would be the Maverick Hunter X and X8 graphics. Then again, I’m all up for anything that they come up with, as long as they stay away from Power Up’s character designs… Too kiddy looking, even for the original series, imo.
The new Megaman X game should have graphics like the blaze blu series( drawn characters, with aweosme backgrounds). Characters should look like the drawings from 1-6. The game theme should be more serious like x4 and x6 but with more than just 8 enemy bosses more like 16 or something with awesomely vast and detailed stages. Powers and upgrades should be customizable( mixing or enhancing gained abilities).
First, if they make an X-9, they need to find a way to get Axl out – I’m all for him dying like the little bitch he is at the beginning of the game.
Second, I support the return to the 16-bit graphics because, for some reason, they can’t seem to get the original feel without the original graphics – look at Mega Man Classic, 1 and 8 did not have the feel of 1 through 6, however somehow they managed that feel with the return to 8-bit in 9 and 10.
Third, they need to explain the gaping plot-holes created by X 7 and X 8 – why the hell isn’t Zero in his 100-year sleep? Why are Dr. Light’s holograms suddenly pre-recorded messages (and how the hell does he guess exactly what X will need, when he will need it, and where he will be to find it, It makes no sense.) I miss the Dr. Light Hologram that spoke to Zero about his visions of Wily.
Fourth, they need to explore Zero’s back story with Wily more. There seemed to be some really great stuff coming when you saw Zero’s first Wily nightmare then, it just stopped…
And fifth – though not entirely necessary, it’d just make me happy to see an explanation for the change in Zero’s appearance in Mega Man Zero – perhaps his body is seriously damaged, and is re-built like that?
Um, I HATE what they did with Megaman 9 and 10 graphic wise, it really f-ed me up, after playing Megaman 8…I was like “what, did MM8 not happen or something, did they decide to scrap the game?”. Look, if I want oldschool, I’ll go back and play oldschool, I’m as retro as retro gets, but there’s no call for making a new age MM game with as much detail(nowadays) as ass smeared on glass. So no, I’m completely against the 2d BS. 2.5 D would be greatly appreciated, with moving foregrounds and backgrounds, and I mean…I enjoyed the X series over the originals. X3′s my all time fave and I loved 4-6, 7 was eh…and 8 was decent, I own most, played and beat all the X games.
I agree that they should scrap Axl though, i thought he was about as useful in MMX as Big the Cat was in Sonic Adventure.*Shivers* Why make a character just to make one, instead of actually…making him/her cool?
Due to X6′s failure at translation, we have the Maverick name merges instead of them being 2 syllables, they’re 3 usually…and some designs I thought, in the later games were pretty bad. They aught to make Mavericks badass and tough, I think.
Lastly, I hate how bad they f-ed up the end to X8. You’ve been fighting Sigma life and death for 7 games straight to find out some pansy, failure of a character wanna who looks like a crossdressed emo hermaphrodite is the end boss. No, thanks. Lumine was horrid. What the f were they thinking?…Vile, he should come back a 4th and final time, as the end boss, mad as ever and powered up. Or, him and Sigma should combine to make something like “Vile Sigma”.
Just my thoughts on how X9 should be. /ranting

why it is not in 3d version!?
I JUST WANNA SAY. When you make the game X9.. USE SAME graphics As X8.. Just make it endless….. just finished X8 on normal.. then hard was so easy.. pointless to start over on hard.. got bored…… WHO CARES about a story line, just make crazy levels, hard bosses and endless content… Yet to try mega man 9 and 10.. can’t go back to those graphics!!
ENDLESS DIFFICULTY*
PLEASE GOD OF CAPCOM. i hope you will make megaman X9
X9 should have 2.5D, extremely polished graphics. Zero should be asleep. Axl should die. Imagine if X could augment his weapons programming using copy chips. Different than Axl though, power-up his weapons, not change them. The game should have PvP reploid battles, maybe include a feature to create your own reploid with their respective appearance and power.
This game needs to be made.
Can’t wait, see i played and beat Megaman X1 X2 and X5 many times when i was about 6-9 and i loved X5 the best, im just 14 now and i suck at it now, but my point is im so happy they are putting it in 16-bit again i love low graphic games such as Final Fantasy 7 and EVERY Megaman game and ive waited years for X9!!
